Damien Jurado - East Virginia Lyrics

I was born and raised in East Virginia
North Carolina I did go
There I met a pretty young maiden
Her name and age I do not know

Her hair it was of a light brown color
Lips they were a ruby red
And on her breast she wore white lilies
Where I long to lay my head

I'd rather be in some dark holler
Where the sun won't ever shine
Than to see you wed another
Girl you know you'd never be mine

I was born and raised in East Virginia
North Carolina I did go
There I met a pretty young maiden
Her name and age I do not know

hey, thanks, I'm glad you liked it.. to sing something that people think is moving and powerful is very pleasing to me and what it's all about as far as I am concerned.. I love this old style of folk music, simple but so full of emotion and charachter, born no doubt from the hardship of the times
    all the best

hey, thanks. I tune the bottom E down to D and really just hit the bottom four strings
    it is a combination of
    550000
    330000
    530000
    350000
    pretty simple really
I think if you tune the top E down to D and the B sting down to A? maybe you can hit all the strings without them sounded discordant
hope that helps.. thanks as always for your support and for watching!!
