Cure, The - Subway Song Lyrics
Midnight in the subway
She's on her way home
She tries hard not to run
But she feels she's not alone
Echoes of footsteps
But she dare not turn around
Turn around

Cure, The Subway Song Comments
AAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!
In Brian De Palma's "Blow Out," John Travolta's sound-engineer character could've used this scream for the horror movie he was editing.
My first E Bass riff i learned to play.
Al Strobel
It's 1:22 AM and I'm was doing my homework while listening The Cure for the very first time, I'm listening this specific album and when that scream dropped it scared the shit out of me, so I came to YouTube to see the comments of this song so I couldn't feel so alone

I KNOW THIS SONG BY HEART, BUT I FUCKING SCREAM EVERY TIME. FUCK YOU ROBERT. (jk ily)
The first time I heard this song, it was late at night and it scared the crap out of me
Falling asleep and listening to this song in the bus, travelling at night, when suddenly I hear the scream (or whatever this is), I open my eyes and the first thing I see is a face, floating in front of me, looking like it came out of a corpse. This is what I see for two seconds until I realize it is just the person who's sitting in the chair in front of me.
Isaac Maia 😂
Love playing the bass lines in this song
god that's a fucking terrifying scream
Just read a quote from Lol Tolhurst that this song was inspired by the railway underpass I walk under twice a day...
what a fucking jump scare hahahaha
What the fuck was that!?
okay but where is they guy with the timestamp?
Holy shit I was in class making a test listening this album for the first time, the scream scared me but fotunately I didn't jump out my seat or did some other dumb shit gawddamnnnnn hahahahaha
Scared me as a kid haha now I love it
muy mucho
The whole point of this song was the jump scare at the end.
QUE SUSTO desse grito no final
If you listen this in your car, you will probably have an accident.
Robert you son of a bitch
was listening to this album in its entirety for the first time the other night as I was driving alone through an unpopulated, completely dark and empty field with nobody on the road besides me. then, the screamer comes and i felt my blood run cold and my heart skip a beat 😂 almost lost control
Emojis = Cancer.
This is such a jazz club’s tune .., masterpiece
This shit scared me, I was in the highway in my car, i Thought "Man this music chill me so fucking hard!" Then... a Big scream! Fuck man hahaha
I thought it had been a car crash, or a skid, but actually it was the fucking The Cure!
My favourite song off of this album. It truly is creepy, and I would love to know the story behind it, simple as it would probably be.
KingSpook It's based off a tall tale Robert used to tell about knowing someone who got killed at a subway station :)
Everytime I listen to their album I forget that at the end of this song is a screamer. It gets me everytime X'D
Edgelorde 😂
ECKS apostrophe DEE
Seven Nation Army is taken from this one...
White Stripes steal from here?

Midnight in the subway
She's on her way home
She tries hard not to run

First time listening to this album today. Needless to say I just about jumped out of my skin when I heard that scream out of nowhere.
You just can't get any better than the Cure......old or new!
Seven Nation Army?
Ever hear "The Prey" by Dead Kennedys? It has the same creepy vibe.
i swear to god robert
Haha, this comment made me laugh! I hope he read it. I just walked home in Crawley, not far from where he went to school, it was midnight and creepy alleyways and I had this song in my head!
This is about a murder or a rape? plz tell me it's about a murder
Paulina Daniela Prado Peña rape
Paulina Daniela Prado Peña both
Actually just murder
one day I will make a movie and the lyrics will be the script
I'll be waiting.
Have the scream be the ending/last shot of the movie.
This freaks me out a bit,but anyway, still enjoyable
Your grammar freaks me out.

Ho la versine dal vivo nei tunnel della metro
I don't imagine listen to it at night, it's day and it's crrepy as hell
+PonnySalvaje69 *-* Well, I just tried ^^' Then I watched the rape scene from Irréversible, to get even more frightened
+Hurlelune
caret caret apostrophe in place of a period
This is the creepiest stuff when you listen to it sitting alone in your room at night. Trust me, I tried.
absolutely, had this record come on when i were walking home around 3:20am, of course this route had dark alleys and the like which was all the more unsettling lol
rajtuz haha I listen to this to help me fall asleep
MOUSIE shit, me too!
Im listening at night right now and its very unsettling
I think New Day is creepier.
I miss when music was a sensual journey
people change, music change .. or it's the opposite :( After 90s music is so soulless and most of it is played on mobile phones and compressed youtube files
