Cure, The - Out Of This World Lyrics

When we look back at it all as I know we will
You and me, wide eyed
I wonder...
Will we really remember how it feels to be this alive?

And I know we have to go
I realize we only get to stay so long
Always have to go back to real lives
Where we belong
Where we belong
Where we belong

When we think back to all this and I'm sure we will
Me and you, here and now
Will we forget the way it really is
Why it feels like this and how?

And we always have to go I realize
We always have to say goodbye
Always have to go back to real lives

But real lives are the reason why
We want to live another life
We want to feel another time
Another time...

Yeah another time

To feel another time...

When we look back at it all as I know we will
You and me, wide eyed
I wonder...
Will we really remember how it feels to be this alive?

And I know we have to go
I realize we always have to turn away
Always have to go back to real lives

But real lives are why we stay
For another dream
Another day
For another world
Another way
For another way...

One last time before it's over
One last time before the end
One last time before it's time to go again...

    Hauntingly beautiful.

  2. Dario Wirtha

I just left this nutty nuthouse. My psychotic therapist put me there telling the doctors i was suicidal. I was not. I suffer bipolar. I was bored out of my mind in there. This is the first The Cure song I thought of listening to after that ordeal.

  19. Sude Bilim

    Diyecek söz bulamıyorum.

  20. Antonio López

The Cure has passed according to their economic convenience by different styles: Post Punk, Gothic Music, A pop that borders on ridicule, New Wave and more ... I prefer the darker themes of The Cure ("Pornography", "Desintegration" "and this ... I hate the dance and pop themes that always bordered on bad taste, especially" close to me "or" friday im love "... It's as if in my mind there were two The Cure, one very talented and another like the poop

    Egi Syahban

I like conversely one, but that's what The Cure is living legend, they so rich in many taste of song, peace from Indonesian The Cure fans

    El Soundtrack de mi vida...😢

  28. Stefan The Doomer

Chilling and calm but sad and thought-provoking at he same time - that are the aspects I love in alternative and post rock.

    Marooned Mike

fellow doomer, keep fightin the good fight

  29. s bel

I saw them live 2 years ago. I was 17, this was the first song they played, and my sister caught me crying and repeating how beautiful it was on camera. Every time I listen to this song it brings me back to then :)

    Julian Valencia

  32. Kimmo Laine

    What a great album.

  33. mike Marino

This is a large song!!!!!masterpiece!! Such touch all through !!!!

  34. Nihil Delos

10 people don't want to have to go back to real lives

  35. erak

However greatly I really adore Wild Mood Swings, perhaps it is perfect that it wasn't recieved very well, otherwise maybe there wouldn't be such an amazing album that is Bloodflowers.

    Carlofono vs

I do agree that WMS is waay overrated. Lots of great songs in that album.

  36. Ana Cuéllar Basante

A great album, produces nostalgia, disappointment, force and death. I Love it!!!

    T gnomechaser

Ana Cuéllar Basante the you are definitely listening to The Cure correctly. 😎

  37. Naꜰɪsaʜ Θurʏ Bᴀʜ

a good song to listen to for things that can never be

  38. Chad deez

My cat loves The Cure. We often sit and listen together.

    Dario Wirtha

@Kris Bijnens so he stayed a long time cuz some versions are quite long and you could always keep it auto replay? Or he was reminded of the time he was lost in the forest and he went into the trees.

    Kewpie Doll

my cats called bobert and he loves the cure too haha. the reason i got him was because he looks like he has eyeshadow and lipstick on haha

    Havalina Chiel

    He he .

  41. Luis Norena

this song is all for me

  42. TheFoxfeather

This basically describes my long distance relationship. Sometimes, the memories can feel more real than the actual reality... If there was a paradise would we go...?

    Luis Norena

    @TheFoxfeather let it be

  43. Lovely Lady

Check out *The Present* on *TruthContest·com* , it is out of this world.

  44. Mannchild11

My Cure playlist is huge already. Let me breathe guys...not. They are legendary and just terrific.

  45. John Meowzer

Matt Holzmacher, that'z a fascinating what-if. Guthrie's haunted guitarz would've sounded amazing in something like this...tho' the Cure guitarist getz a pretty similar effect.

  46. E4T6

    robert.

  47. E4T6

    why is this so good?

    Sempaimasternekitokawaii

Im grateful that the 60s and the 70s end to open the path for the new music.

    Javier Stefano Páez Mendoza

    Cause it's The Cure.

    Rybackilicious

@pammy t How is this not music? I cant imagine what you think of the embarrassing shit in the charts today

    sunshaped

@pammy t get out of here with that. maybe you're just too old to *get* this more subtly gorgeous and amazing music. I never even say stuff like this to anyone, insulting someone's age, but comments like yours are so ignorant and dim-witted.

    burnsport1

@sunshaped Exactly. Most 60s and 70s music is colorless, primitive, and like experiencing something in 2D. The artists that came out of the 80s gave birth to an explosion of intricate, psychedelic, sensual, 3 dimensional sounds. And now we can listen to much more sophisticated stuff like the Cure

  48. Angel of Silence

The Cure. Timeless, amazing. This song is like among many of their other songs one of the best pieces of music on this earth.

    Carlos H. Barron Jr.

that's a beautiful way to put it my freind!!

  49. 7d7e7f7

Best off Bloodflowers. Last Day of Summer is #2.

  50. wallee me

This song and the loudest sound from this album, they are the best songs. These two songs take me to a different dimension. They are wonderful, I hope they can continue making this music, The Cure is the best

  51. Richard A. Sockey IV

Inside every amoeba may be a cosmos as grand as our own, just as old, with habitable planets, exploding stars, black-holes and nebula. (Aramis Deceives) You know there's some lady there complaining 'cause she hasn't received any flowers lately. That's significant, somehow. Especially when you consider that women usually only get flowers when their man has cheated.

  52. Jacob Herrington

kinda sounds a bit like shoegaze

  53. Elia Caballero

    I love it !

  54. lyonslaforet

This song is warm, wistful....just like the whole album!

  55. Tigger

He looks like a mental serial killer..
    No Offence :)

  56. Jeremiah Mengesha

can somebody plz tell me wat dis song is about?

    DJ Scott

Questioning the future memory of a passionate moment in life and then making the most of that moment to solidify its significance before going back to what it is we do (the mundane) to make us long for that moment. That's how I understand it.

    Brad Perry

Two married people having an affair

    Jonathan Carvalho

DJ Scott beautifully put, my friend!

    Naꜰɪsaʜ Θurʏ Bᴀʜ

@Brad Perry that's what came to mind for me too🤔

  57. Matthew C

Echoofcourage asked where he has heard this beat before, and I must say this album does sound like a very extended version of "Pictures of you," perhaps Smith's masterpiece. That's not a bad thing, but it's not very original in its own right, but I still love it.

  58. Matthew C

I agree.. this is my fav. from this album, and there are a ton of great songs on this album!

  59. Mstar82

this is the first song I heard from the bloodflowers album.. and so (for me) it's like the trademark song..

every song from bloodflowers sounds similar, that coolish breathing acoustic sound.. when I hear this song (especially) I have that picture in my head.. lying on a meadow full of flowers, but it's foggy..

    dunno where that comes from

    amazng song!

  60. HallucigeniaIV

    I like this song...

Robert Smith is a fuckin' genious

  61. Matt Holzmacher

i think robin guthrie should have been in the cure, it would have been much more perfect.
