Cure, The - Bananafishbones Lyrics

Curl into a ball like you have more fun
That would make it faster
Why do you do it do you act like you?...

Don't fight
Go red and blue and black and white
Sell this sell this
Or leave it senseless like a suck on a gun?
Put a piece of metal in your head you said
Make you dead
Make you hippa hippa hippa hippa

A palace of stones
Of your bananafish bones
I'll buy you a hundred years old
To celebrate our difference
Theorise and talk yourself
Until you're tired and old

Disappear everywhere and watch me
Pull my lips apart
Exploit inspire encourage
Be responsible for this
Ha ha

I don't think
I don't think
I make use of all this time
Oh kill me kiss me once
And then we'll throw it away
And then we'll throw it away

Turn off the lights
And tell me about the games you play

Always seems like it would've fitted in brilliantly on Japanese Whispers

  7. G.... ....

2018...I am hesitant to say "still holds up"...because lets face...the Cure is still better then airina grande or lady gaga or anyone else playing these days/ Misic peaked...now we have sad pale pretenders who shout politcal slogans, flash boos ( I dont hate that part) and just act crazy....to substitute real talent. Whatever i am going off topoc...love the cure and siouxsie...good stuff.

  8. R.... L....

Is this the original speed or the sped up version?

I just did a direct comparison of this version with the version on the vinyl album, and yes, the higher pitch of this version is easy to hear, even for a non-audiophile like me. It made me angry that Robert Smith had changed the song on the reissue, but then I thought, "What if the higher pitched version is the correct one? It sounds different, but could I really say that it sounds worse?" So I looked it up on Wikipedia and found out that in fact the higher-pitched version really IS the correct one. The version on the vinyl album was mastered at the incorrect speed, one semitone too low. That error was corrected in the reissue. Robert, you are forgiven.

    G.... C....

you'd think that, until you hear the live version on the 2nd disc, which uses this faster tempo but is still pitched down to the tone of the original album.

    G.... C....

Wow, comments like this are the worst. Who gives a shit? Pitch it down if you don't like, Mr. Expert. Jesus, you are annoying.

  19. S.... Y....

a great song from a great album....i always felt that this album and japanese whispers were siamese twins.

    S.... Y....

    Skrab Yup
But Siamese Twins is on Pornography. Is there such a thing a Siamese triplets?

  20. D.... F....

Inspiré par J.D. Salinger's nouvelle "A Perfect Day for Bananafish" dans son anthologie Nine Stories.

    D.... F....

my favorite story of the 9 and I DID NOT SEE THAT END COMING AT ALL

  21. G.... S....

What did happened to Robert to do shit like that!

  22. s.... ....

Great album for the days where you felt you've lost your mind.  You're not alone, back to reality, apologies for the normality.

    s.... ....

I wish I could lose my mind

  26. D.... B....

_"Bananafishbones"_ is one of my favorite songs from *The Cure*. And _"The Top"_ is an all-to-often overlooked Cure album...

    D.... B....

They just announced they will be performing The Top, The Head on the Door and Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me on the upcoming Trilogy tour at the end of this year. I agree with you about The Top. So overlooked.

    D.... B....

  29. S.... M....

  30. J.... A....

    UN DISCASO

  31. L.... ....

Somehow when Robert finishes saying the "tu tu tu tu tu tu"s I imagine him turning his head around showing his face but the eyes are blank and then another scene appeares in his blank eyes and then that scene zooms in...with the style he has on "The Caterpillar" video, except that the band is on a stage...

  32. P.... F....
