Cure, The - A Japanese Dream Lyrics
I'm going back to the land of the blind
Back to the land where the sun never shines
I'm going back there and I'm hoping to find
Everything just as it was before I left it all behind
Twisted and turned but I just couldn't get free
I opened my eyes, I still couldn't see
But I could feel her, China white girl
So I get down on the floor, like I am worshiping God
Burning like a monkey
Ya, I lay down on the floor, like I am praying to the Lord
Burning like a monkey, oh
Ooh, that was a Japanese dream alright
And the way that her scent used to fill up the night like
Like her scent used to fill up the night
So I get down on the floor, like I am worshiping God
Burning like a monkey
Ya, I lay down on the floor, like I am praying to the Lord
Burning like a monkey
Just look at me now, just look at me this way
It looks like I am quite insane
It looks like I am trying to eat off my face
Looks like I'm going to the land of the blind anyway
Back where the sun never shines
Back to the land of the blind
Back in a Japanese dream
In a Japanese dream

Cure, The A Japanese Dream Comments
Several Cure B-sides got airplay on KROQ Los Angeles in the mid-80's. This one and "A Man Inside My Mouth" come to mind.
Les Cure tout jeunes, et déjà quel talent ! 😊😆
One of my favorite Cure songs ever!
the first time I heard this, was on a VHS bootleg tape section with a town trolley in it.It took years to track the songs name. When was it first released? Was it on an album?
They have so many amazing songs of B-side!💓💓💓💓💓👍
top five best. Before CDs very hard to isolate or get
The Cure has the best B-ob sides haha
Does anyone have a flac of this exact recording? it doesn't sound like the version on Join The Dots, it's quieter!
fabulous!
tellement de mouvement avec toutes les mélodies
magnifique...
The Cure had this secret weapon throughout their career: to create B-sides as good as the A sides!
Tu à raison
BETTER than the A-sides... especially the early B-Sides.
Oh yes. Sometimes better than the A-Sides.
I love "a chain of flowers"...
Actually this is mostly because sometimes Robert used poor judgment when determining which tunes should make it on the record and which shouldn't. KMKMKM is the most egregious example of this imo. So much so i've, so to speak, recut a better version of it. I included all six b-sides and removed the 6 songs i thought were not very good on the record (i assume we'd all have different picks but i think most people can recognize at least 6 of those 18 songs aren't so good...and if you don't remove Fight, i don't even wanna know you!) In my version of the record this here song replaces Torture (which is ok musically, cool bassline anyway, but i cringe at the lyrics...)
I agree, this song is excellent. It would've fit perfectly on Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me. The guitar work is fantastic, very psychedelic/Johnny Marr-ish.
Maybe. To me the guitars are more like Virgin Prunes
