This beautiful and haunting song is so underrated. I bought this single back in 1998 or 1999. I hope they will re-release it. It deserves to be on the top 5, at least!

The first time I heard this (listening to the album), I thought, "Well, this is a definite follow-up to the classic CC singles of the '80s..." It became my favorite song from the album. It should have been a Top 10 hit single internationally...and worthy of a Grammy and a Brit Award. Everything about this song works, and I love how George, in his late 30s here, has a powerful timbre and balance between his barely 20-something voice (in the 1980s) and his then-deepening, thicker pitch and tone (just prior to Y2K/2000). I never knew there was a video for this single...I wasn't able to purchase DMIID until years after its release, because it didn't get a domestic album release in America...I had to purchase an import from England...WHY didn't this album get ANY fanfare in The States, where the band had their biggest successes?! This should be played on the airwaves, as We speak...

This song should have been a huge No 1 hit. George as a poet writes well and Roy, Jon and Michael are extremely underrated musicians. Without them, they simply wouldn't have that sound. Listen to those chords. What's wrong with the world?!

George is an extremely complex individual and we are lucky he was brave enough to step into the spotlight. When George writes you can tell it is from the heart. George is no small man in height and stature but he can transform to the image he wants to convey. Time (Clock Of The Heart) was one of the breakout moments for the band and the song never grows old.

I have to agree with all the comments......this song is so underrated yet a brilliant song.    I'd say his best song......I've got this on a very old cassette tape and listen to it a lot.      I especially love the strings in the orchestra.......

I love Culture Club, but this song wasn’t successful because it wasn’t innovative, or modern sounding. Sounds dated even when it came out. Plus, it’s very hard for a band to make a successful comeback after being away so many years. Their fan base grew up, and moved on to other things. It’s like when the Go-Go’s made that comeback album God Bless the Go-Go’s years ago. It was a fantastic album, their best, but it was a major flop because after all that time, nobody cared about the Go-Go’s anymore. Just as no one cared about Culture Club anymore when this album/song was released (except for the diehard CC fans). It had nothing to do with the BBC or lack of promotion. If it had tons of promotion, it still would have flopped. Hell, the entire album wasn’t even released in North America and many other countries.

*Culture Club made a huge and successful comeback throughout the years, especially with their World Tours 2015, 2016 and 2017.* They were so excited that people still loved them. They were like WOW we can't believe the Fans still LOVE us. I couldn't keep up with all the interviews and the Excitement surrounding them, *_so you're just stating your Opinion, NOT Facts._* All their Concerts were Sold Out! The Real and Die-Hard Fans are waiting for them to do more Concerts & put out music in the Future.

I loved every song on this album. But I love all their songs too and anything George sings.

I'm sad that after the surgery on his Vocal Cord to remove polyp in 2014, his voice forever changed to a more deep husky sound. I miss that voice.
