Cult, The - Love Lyrics

C'mon now
Wanna dig the scene?

Love, obviously, very soon, everybody
Love, obviously, very soon, everybody

Oh, oh won't you love that sweet time?
Oh, oh don't you love that sweet time?

Spent a long time on this road
Spent a long time in this town
Spent a long time in the wrong road
Spent a long time in this town
Gonna drive away in a big fast car
Gonna drive away, won't get too far
Gonna drive away, don't know how far
Gonna drive away in a big fast car

Love, obviously, very soon, everybody
Love, obviously, very soon, everybody

Oh, oh don't you love that sweet time?
Oh, don't you love that sweet time?

C'mon now

Spent a long time in your hole
Spent a long time in the wrong hole
Spent a long time in this town
I spent a long time in my town

Gonna drive away in a big fast car
Gonna drive away, won't get too far
Gonna drive away, won't get too far
Gonna drive away, don't know how far
How far
Oh yeah
In this town
In my town
In my town
That's just my fee

Love
Love
Love
I look for the grand conditions near her heart

Love...

  10. J.... ....

The hot spot in the U.S. where The Cult and this album first caught fire and was most popular was the Seattle area.

    J.... ....

    Noooooo. It was Los Angeles.

    J.... ....

@Michael MacLeod Billy Duffy has spoken about it, saying the only city that 'She Sells Sanctuary' was a big hit on the radio was Seattle. Astbury has also related how the map looked if you pinpointed the sales in the U.S. and how it saturated around the Seattle area. That was the point of what he was saying anyway. I always thought LA or NYC would be it, but The Cult were a big influence on many of those Seattle bands that became the faces of Grunge, so it makes sense.

  32. e.... n....

I DONT KNOW WHAT TO SAY MUSIC WITH BIG BALLS

  33. L.... d....

The first two albums are my favorites, "Dreamtime" and "Love", not "Sonic Temple" or "Electric".

    L.... d....

that's cos the first two are on sire records, then they signed with Warner Bros and they put a ton of money behind them with a new producer that changed their sound and style....for the worse,IMHO

    L.... d....

I think Electric is a great one to , but Sonic Temple isn't.

  34. L.... S....

Facebook has told me that you don't have some standard. What a bullish. Go a hell to Facebook. Love you.

  35. C.... M....

    So wild and possessed

  36. S.... D....

If a millennial whoop had balls, it might qualify to audition for Ian Ashbury.🐯

  37. B.... ....

    My favourite cult song

  38. P.... ....

Why this song never got released as a single is beyond me.

    P.... ....

Good question, for me the whole '' Love '' is one big single .

    P.... ....

IT s beyond good and evil 😁

    P.... ....

@01Aleph Except 'Black Angel' - Oh dear! Should have replaced that track with 'Little Face'...but meh, they probably needed another ballad.

    P.... ....

@Ian TB What's wrong with "Black Angel", for me it's a great song , ballad or not who cares , good song is a good song .

    P.... ....

Ian TB - Black Angel is one of my favourite songs from that album, but to each their own, I suppose.

  39. J.... C....

    Speakers had to be redone

  40. J.... C....

    The rain , she sells,

  41. J.... C....

Yes! Wow myrtle beach 1988 for me this album was quite a great surprise !!!!

  42. D.... S....

Now that’s a fuckn guitar solo
No tapping or hammers and pulls or hair metal nonsense
I wish billy still played like this

    D.... S....

Amen brother - nothing worse than gratuitous scales & sustain!

  43. J.... F....

this whole album is great...nothing like dropping some double purple micro dot and putting those giant headphones on ans zoning out...ahhh the 80s where fun.....if i can remeber...lol

    J.... F....

wow....ian and billy still sound great...went and seen them a cpl days ago on june 2 at casino rama....always impressed when i see them...dam can he whail on his guitar....the doobies probably made it 100 times better...lol..even sang the Phoenix...which was a great surprize...awsome tune as well

  44. s.... m....

    Nirvana,,,,The Cult :Fantastic

  45. s.... ....

    The guitar from 3:11 Awesome!

  46. E.... S....

Still fantastic! They were on fire here. I was lucky enough to see them live way back ( & Billy Idol opened for them hahaha) & they were fantastic... even though Ian had laryngitis LOL He still sounded great though

  47. d.... B....

And no he sounds like him Morrison!!!

  48. d.... B....

21st century doors NIA bham the cult Wolverhampton great shows

  49. A.... B....

    Cold ass track!

  50. K.... M....

Just makes ya wanna dance every time I hear this song 80s bruh chur

  51. F.... ....

Loved this album. That M. Brzezicki drummed kind of helped a lot. He is one of the best drummers than ever lived. Was great to hear on Love.

    F.... ....

Hell, Yes! That's a tough machine: wait a minute: A Love Removal Machine, in my opinion, the greatest rock and roll title, ever! The alliteration, the cadence: poetry, turned up to 14. Spinal Tap are impersonators: here's the real deal.

    F.... ....

Totally right, amazing drummer and absolutely killed it on this album. Fantastic lineup and producer, this album bleeds raw talent.

  52. D.... G....

    Every song is awesome! Flawless.

  53. M.... P....

I saw The Cult open for Aerosmith . Bad move on Aerosmith's part. I'm sure 1/2 the audience felt like just leaving after The Cult finished...it was that great! Some did.

    M.... P....

Maybe some of those people only were there for The Cult .. ☺ Never got to see them Matt Sorum joined Guns and Roses..!!!

    M.... P....

On their A Game, The Cult smoked any and all of their peers.

    M.... P....

What I find funny is how Ian Astbury kinda looked a bit like Steven Tyler back in the 80’s.

    M.... P....

Yp I was there, Arnhem. Left after the Cult

    M.... P....

I saw Zodiac Mindwarp & the Love Reaction open for The Cult & they blew Cult off stage. Impossible to follow.

  54. M.... C....

Never drive to this song, you will get caught speeding!

    M.... C....

Ha ha ha good song to drive to

  55. J.... j....

    It could be you now!

  56. O.... ....

I can't BEGIN to tell you the surf trips that this played in our cassette player on the way to New Smyrna or Sebastian inlet. Memories...

    O.... ....

Omflyer i love reading this kind of comment about memories from a song.
i can almost imagine the scene while listening to the song.
    i bet it’s a fantastic memory.

    O.... ....

lmao. god yeah id forgot it was prob cassette player i was pre raving 3 parts drunk to this :D

    O.... ....

Speaking of trips ... acid might have had a little bit to do with my appreciation of this music, back in the 80s. Almost as if they were made for each other ;)

    O.... ....

It was me Rob langille Eric Sell (rip) Bill Nilmot (180) Paul Lowes/Harvey all time stoner crew heading to those swells that danced in our heads and this music provided the ultimate STOKE

    O.... ....

Still playing it on surf trips here in Brisbane.

  57. P.... G....

    La classe

  58. D.... P....

OMG!! One of the greatest albums ever!!

    D.... P....

    Masterpiece

    D.... P....

bought it when it came out, after I saw the She Sells Sanctuary video on MTV

    D.... P....

Jimmy O'sullivan that’s a good one too I like the first incarnation as well Southern Death Cult

    D.... P....

Solid. Solid. album. front to back.yes.

  59. M.... C....

I love all of The Cult, but some of their songs (like "Nirvana") are just flawless like a Native American running and leaping off a cliff, transforming into a flaming Thunderbird and igniting everything around it while moving at hundreds of miles an hour. The Cult is a rare breed.

    M.... C....

haha yeah they kind of opened a portal to another dimension with this album

    M.... C....

embraced by the goth crowd for their uniqueness

    M.... C....

    Huuuruuuuuuu

    M.... C....

    I feel like a horse!

  60. P.... G....

    Poveri leoni spelati da tastiera

  61. P.... G....

I 2 pollici giù sono da allocchi....

  62. A.... ....

I float through day and night life, well most of the time
Till I hung up my blues on a nail in your wall
It rained flowers when the music began
Love all around when the music is loud
    Every day, nirvana!!!!

    A.... ....

    Always this way! Nirvana.💖

  63. G.... J....

Drum machine? Everything sounds so muddy and buried. Where's the crispness and clarity?

    G.... J....

dont need it..... will be not nirvana by the cult

    G.... J....

    Production fool!

    G.... J....

Listen too the following album? Band progresses. New producer? Your comments need crispness and clarity. This jam is fine. Jeez! Stop posting no sense...

    G.... J....

Nonsense. The production and mixing is fine.

  64. A.... ....

    I love Love!

  65. A.... ....

    LOO(VE!

  66. J.... A....

    I love this song !!!
