Love The Cult and Ian and Duffy but they leave me craving for more guitar solo’s every time I listen to them. Probably on the 3rd Song I would switch to Pantera or Carcass. They make me feel like that. Only my opinion.

@JohnnyRingo Never read Rolling Stone in my life, however I knew people who were close to Astbury back in the early days of the band in Northern England. To be honest I never blamed them for wasting their talent and becoming a crap cartoonish classic rock sell out joke band, because Northern England was and is a shithole for the most part and it would have been hard to resist the big bucks and life in California. Its a pity for the musics sake, because Love was a good album and everything after is laughable, but hey, thats up to them. The issue is that they criticize others for their crap music and yet it is even more lamentable in their case because they had considerable talent for indie rock, but they just never had the chops to be a real rock band and it shows, their music became ridiculous. So buddy, the shame is all yours for not having the taste or discernment to know what the fuck you are talking about

This is THE song that catapulted the Cult into the stratosphere, although in my opinion Dreamtime is one of the greatest and underrated albums by them. Duffy is solid guitarist and a great ‘riffer’ but his lead breaks can be a little derivative in the metal world.
