Cuddy, Jim - Pull Me Through Lyrics

There's paper scattered on the lawn
Birds up on the line
There's letters left unopened here
There never is the time

There's messages I should return
And people I should call
I'm still tripping over echoes
Left lying in the hall

There's a light comes
Through the darkness
Slowly to my eyes
You can fall back here forever
I just never realized

Time won't let me go
And every night I know
That you could pull me through
You could always pull me through

Even when I'm lying here
Drowning in my blues
You take the sting out of the rain
And bring the sun back up again
You could always pull me through

We stood outside together
And we laughed like ancient friends
Then we lay down in a field
Just where the road begins and ends

I see you in the mirror
And I watch you from a far
My friends all think I'm crazy
But I know the way things are

Outside I hear voices
Underneath the moon
And I'm grateful for whatever breaks
The silence in this room

Time won't let me go
And every night I know
That you could pull me through
You could always pull me through

Even when I'm lying here
Drowning in my blues
You take the sting out of the rain
And bring the sun back up again
Darling you could always pull me through

I hope you're traveling well now
And there's stars over your head
And I hope the river carries you
Everywhere you said

I miss the way you look at me
The way you wear your hair
I miss the conversations
We left hanging in the air

Late at night I wake up
Wonder what's been done
But I know our life together
Will go on and on

You could pull me through
You could always pull me through
Wrap your arms around me
And chase away my blues

You could take the sting out of the rain
And bring the sun back up again
You could always pull me through
You could always pull me through

I lost my wife on her birthday,June 3,2017. I am still having such a hard time but listening to this song does help so much. I know her spirit is with me, and she is up in heaven with our creator. Jim Cuddy is such an incredible vocalist and a great musician and unparalled songwriter. What a voice!

Last month, May 8th, is the 10th anniversary of my wife Traci & our newborn daughter, (our first) passing away within 7 minutes of each other. She was t-boned by a driver with no license, no insurance, & was drunk, while she was pregnant. There it went downhill with physical & mental limitations that she couldn't deal with. She didn't want meds that could potentially save her life, & harm the child. I never even got to hold my daughter, named Arianna Michaela. As I left the hospital, it heard this song. I have a love/hate relationship with this song.  It's an amazing song.

    J.... L....

So sorry for your loss. I can't even imagine the pain you must have gone through (still going through). I pray you take comfort in knowing that when your time comes that your wife and daughter will greet you with open arms.

    J.... L....

@Stock Lock - This guy claims in another comment that just his wife died. I wouldn't take much stock in his words.

  22. S.... M....

Tessa and Scott. Canadian legends, 5 time Olympic champions. Thank you for the memories.

  43. G.... M....

    Great Song!!!

  44. J.... L....

Wow. Even after hearing this, after so many years of my wife passing, this song obliterates me. She passed over 10 years ago, while giving birth to our first child. A daughter, after almost 15 years of marriage.&...well, wow.

    J.... L....

I thought she died in a car accident?

  45. J.... L....

On May the 8th, 8 years ago, I'd lost my wife of 15 years, during childbirth of our first child. They both died 7 minutes apart.  Ya, this song messes me up.

    J.... L....

    Jon Luc Gariveau so sorry

    J.... L....

Oh - oh - how unbelievably horrible. How does anyone get over something like this. There are ...simply ...no words.

    J.... L....

    I am so sorry :(

  46. A.... K....

I could seriously express every emotion in a relationship through Blue Rodeo and Jim Cuddy songs. This song, and the message it conveys, helped me through a tough time. Wish I could sing half as well as Cuddy.

  47. L.... W....

    beautiful

  48. A.... H....

So thought through the lyeics .. I want one of such.. I play , but have a womans voice , I taught my son how to play guitar, Play at Mono Mill's , Everyone have to hear Devin Play !!!! God the all have the utmost tallent !!!

  49. A.... H....

amazing how love for someone can give them so much power to no matter what the situation, they are the one that could always pull you through. maybe it's just a confirmation that the during the course of history, the only thing we need, is to love and be loved. try pulling yourself through any situation without it!!!! GOOD LUCK!!!!

    A.... H....

@Paola Mazzone glad you like the song.....nice day. :):)

    A.... H....

Hi, I hope you’re still here. Tessab and Moir brought me here and read your beautiful sentiment. Good luck, never lose hope in love

  50. A.... H....

you know, i had always believed (or at least i fooled myself into believing) that no matter the situation i could get through it as (sort of) like the lone wolf and never needed to depend on anyone,,, and YES, even the emotional things. but i wasn't getting myself through the emotional things, i was just burying them and hiding from those things because 9i didn't want to deal with them or let anyone else know because i was showing a sign of weakness and  becoming vulnerability.....but now when i look at it, i probably pushed away a lot of people that just wanted to love me but i was afraid to drop my shield. now being what i call a little bit smarter and a lot more trusting, i know well enough that if i share hearts with someone special, and when i'm feeling lonely, tired, afraid, and blue, i can look at that special one (whether it has happened or is going to happen as that one and only, i won't be so afraid to look at her and say that no matter how weak i get..you can always pull me through. it's like a song of it's own isn't it. i hope you love the song and how the story works on whoever is writing your own chapters in life..... PHILOSOPHY 101?? NOPE!!!

    A.... H....
