I miss my ex so much it’s crazy. We broke up because of long distance and we couldn’t handle it anymore... I know he is my soulmate. He wanted to get marry and play this song in our wedding but I didn’t want to get marry.. and that was the only way to bring him back to me(we were in different countries) but I didn’t want to compromise like that. John Frank gore was fantastic though. Chino has quite a library of music in an array of styles. We have Crosses, Palms, Team Sleep, Deftones......

Chino did actually form a new band just around the time new deftones album was released. It's called saudade and they have one single out right now. I'm really hyped for a full length album from them. He doesn't actually sing on it and I heard that he doesn't sing on many of them. It's purely an instrumental but it gets to you.

Kinda surprising crosses or even Chino didn't do a song on Florence + The Sphinx, would have worked better than some of the bands on it but I guess they already had enough mellow songs being a heavy label

Chino is a true musician. Able to tap into multiple facets and create nothing less than beautiful music; whether it be with Team Sleep, Deftones or Crosses, an artist with that kind of ability is rare. Besides, the music industry is riddled with bands in which their members are from other successful bands. So because you're a vocalist with a distinct voice, you can't expand your work? If you're a Deftones fan and can't appreciate Chino's other work, then you were never truly a fan of Chino in the first place.

@trulyhistoric in deftones he speaks in riddles almost.. its nice to hear him just chillin laying it out music wise without having to dissect his lyrics with a comb

I've listened to a few of these songs now and compared to Chino's past side project, Team Sleep, I actually like this more. Not that Team Sleep was bad, not at all, but the music with this band is more fitting to his voice.

I don't get it, Sumerian Records used to be about Djent and progressive metal and brutal bad ass shit!! This is like an emotional failed attempt to follow up Marilyn Manson. I might be to quick to judge but what happened to BoO, AaL, Periphery being badass and shit?

The greatest djent bands are on Sumerian, that is true. But, this Chino Moreno's(Deftones) side band. Crosses may not be metal, but it gives a similar feeling as BOO and AAL. You don't have to listen to this band if you don't like it, but diversity is a good thing. Just listen to the artists on this great label that appeal to you and leave the ones you don't alone. Good day sir.

I think if Chino wasn't singing it wouldn't sound like Deftones at all. His voice is so distinctive anything he does is gonna song like Deftones to a point.
