Crosby, Stills & Nash - See The Changes Lyrics
[Intro. (Acoustic Guitar)]
She has seen me changing
It ain't easy rearranging
And it gets harder as you get older
And I don't know the answer
Does it even matter?
I'm wonderin' how
[Instrumental (Acoustic Guitar)]
Ten years singing right out loud
I never looked was anybody listening
Then I fell out of a cloud
Now I have someone
She has seen me changing
And it gets harder as you get older
And farther away as you get closer
And I don't know the answer
Does it even matter?
I'm wonderin' how
[Instrumental (Acoustic Guitar)]
Seems like something out of a dream
I had years ago yes, I remember screaming
Nobody laughing all the good times
Getting harder to come by without weeping
Now I have someone
She has seen me changing
And it gets harder as you get older
And farther away

Three voices, one guitar ... that's it.
Exquisite simplicity.
Exquisite beauty.
Overwhelming.So much material.
The liner notes from the greatest hits said this was recorded with all three guys singing into one microphone: no mixing, (no autotune). Pure gold...
Awesome...
This version is more soulful and poignant than the live one. Also, the vocal harmonies come across clearer. I prefer this version of "See the Changes." (It seems they added a disco beat to the live performance. Does every song have to have "a good beat and you can dance to it"?) :)
Actually, if you listen to the version, with Neil Young onboard, for the aborted Human Highway album, in 1973, it was more of a rock song, as opposed to a ballad. Here's a link to that version...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tg9PPExxmhk
@grandpavanderhof I put both versions in my CSN(Y) playlist. I prefer the older one, myself.
the one they did live with Niel sounded dull like they weren't hitting the highs and lows in the chorus at all. I love these guys though.
Without a doubt proof of pure Love this band, inc Neil Young.
rocker in the crowd
CSN It all came together here
One of my favorite CSN(Y) tunes.
My first favorite song by one of my favorite bands. Subconsciously, maybe my absolute favorite band ever. Rippling acoustic guitars, beautiful harmonies. Pure Americana.
You are finally free now Brenda. Thanks for all the wonderful memories of a love gone by.
Just so good - musicianship, lyrics, harmonies.
It would be fun to hear the isolated vocals on this awesome song
