Great theme song from the classic Roy Rogers & Dale Evans B-Western "SAN FERNANDO VALLEY" (Republic, 1944). After WW2, thousands of settlers came to the San Fernando Valley and made it the overpopulated place it is today.

I was a living there as a foreign exchange student (from Germany) ten years ago and I really loved it. This song brings back some good old memories. 😃

Grew up in Burbank, because my dad was a Disney animator, and when they moved the studios from Hyperion to Burbank, he bought our home on Florence and Clark streets.

When this song was written the San Fernando Valley and all of Southern California was beautiful, unspoiled and a pleasure to live in. Now it is grossly overpriced, unbelievably overcrowded, choked with traffic and a horrible place to live in! I can't wait to move!

I owned a cassette of Crosby's big hits that had this song on it 30 years ago, and I loved it! I was only in my 20s at the time. I still love Crosby's stuff, prefer it over a lot of other music. :)

It's been my family's home for 65 years and me being the 3rd generation to live here, I have no plans of leaving the Granada Hills home that has been in my family since 1957.

@surferpam1 There are still horses within 10 miles in all directions of Panorama City.

I was born and raised in the SFV's community of Panorama City and back then it really *was* "cow country" with lemon, orange and plum tree groves. (wow, I am old!) Didn't need air conditioners, to lock your doors or be afraid of your neighbors. What a time.

Raised there till I went into the navy in '59.  I wouldn't want to live there now.

I grew up there and can tell you that it was probably better when the area was all white. But just because it was better doesn't mean that the people that are there now are bad people necessarily because there are a lot of great hardworking people there.

+Mark Magana are you Salvadorian ? i bet you are thus your reason of saying that. The san fernando valley is huge and there are still alot of white folk, lake view terrace for crying out! I'm dominican and i love Mexican people, i dont know why people hate on them even other latin people, i think its jelousy to be honest but the only down fall of sfv is how expensive it is and the traffic and all the stuck up female brods
