Croce, Jim - Top Hat Bar And Grill Lyrics
Well, if you're lookin' for a good time
Look hard as you want but you ain't gonna find
The kind of good times you will
Come every Friday and Saturday evening at the Top Hat Bar and Grill
There is a waitress name of Lil
Well, she's a honky tonky, little bit chunky, divorcee
She wears the tight hippy hugger slacks
You can believe me when I tell you jack
That she's a dancin', prancin', hard romancin',
P-I-E-C-E
And she can do the boogie woogie
She can do the boogaloo
And she knows how to nasty too
So, if you're lookin' for a good time
Look hard as you want but you ain't gonna find
The kind of good times you will
Come every Friday and Saturday evening at the Top Hat Bar and Grill
Well, at the Top Hat Bar and Grill
They've got this bouncer name of Gil
Well, he's a honky tonky heavily funky ex-Marine
He wears the skin-tight body builder shirts
And jack he'll knock you out into the dirt
But, if you got you no money or you try to get funny
Then, brother you gonna see
That man's gonna do the boogie woogie
He gonna do the boogaloo
He gonna do the hoochie coochie
And he'll be doin' all his dancin' on you
So, if you're lookin' for a good time
Look hard as you want but you ain't gonna find
The kind of bad times you will
Come every Friday and Saturday evening at the Top Hat Bar and Grill
Lookin' for a good time
Lookin' for a bad time
So, if you're lookin' for a good time
The parties you want but you ain't gonna find
The kind of good times you will
Come every Friday and Saturday evening at the Top Hat Bar and Grill

Croce, Jim Top Hat Bar And Grill Comments
It almost sounds like he wrote this one as a promotional piece for a restaurant that he liked.
just one of his great songs,,,,,darn shame....taken way too young,,,RIP,,,,J/C
great song love this one. jim croce could tell a magic story.
Love this song..
Hate to say it but I'm not really feeling this one lol I'm sorry but man I'm kind of like not sure at all
That's fine...Jim had incredible love songs but he also had wonderful character songs, most often based on people he met in his lifetime. I'd like to see one of these character songs turned into a movie or perhaps a sitcom. This song really shows Jim's great sense of humor. Thanks for listening!
+Lawrence047 Always loved this song!! Rocking tune for him!! Love all his music!! He was the best!!
Camelonbread probably be cause these were "added to" after Jim passed. the mix process was just atarting when Jim died. otherwise it's very unlikely that Henry Gross (shannon) would have been re ruined to play electric guitar on some of these. I just think would have had a less 'produced' sound had Jim been there.
Camelonbread you’re not a smart man
@Da blah sometimes you ARE the smartest one because you're unsmart.
Imagine Croce himself getting into a punch-on with the Gil character, after pinching Lil on the arse. Pretty good song, hey. Brings back a shitload of memories!
I hate to be so blunt, but I think it's because died. If he weren't claimed in that plane crash, this probably would've been released (or re-released) as a single at some point and become one of his next hits... :-(
But I really dig it. So now I'm gonna play it twice. :-)
my favorite jim croce song. i cant believe this only have 700 views such a classic.
