Creedence Clearwater Revival - Cotton Fields Lyrics
[Chorus 1:]
When I was a little bitty baby
My mama would rock me in the cradle,
In them old cotton fields back home;
It was down in Louisiana,
Just about a mile from Texarkana,
In them old cotton fields back home.
[Chorus 3:]
Oh, when them cotton bolls get rotten
You can't pick very much cotton,
In them old cotton fields back home.
[Chorus 2]
[Chorus 2]
[Chorus 3]
[Chorus 2]
[Chorus 1]
[Chorus 2]

Te extraño abuelo
I knew that . When I was young ccr was from san Fran. CA . pretending to be a back woods down south country rock band. But damn it they sounded good and pulled it off
But... Louisiana is just about THIRTY MILES from Texarkana. Huddie Ledbetter AKA Leadbelly wrote the song, and he shoulda known this "Just about a mile" business was poetic license at best. ;-)
I really like this sing😍😍
Why the f**k do people dislike such great masterpieces?
Beacuse they are stupid cunts, long live CCR
Dislike because this twat puts ads on songs that ain’t his
I love this song :D!!!
Yeeehaw
Country Rock ....is a best band in my heart
My mom used to sing this song to me all the time...god damn i miss that...love you mama
I love this song very much. I loved leadbelly and to find that CCR's version of this song was pleasing.

Good old country song
Down south...at a certain time of year, millions of balls of cotton blow across the highway like some kind of magic...it's surreal. Supposedly, new cars with object detection sensors & auto braking & collision avoidence have to have their sensors calibrated to ignore things that small so they don't get triggered by cotton...still gotta wonder if a big enough bunch would make the car panic though?
Ida is down in Louisiana just about a mile from texarkana
I used to volunteer at a vfw post and I served a bunch of Vietnam vets food and they used to play this on the juke box while playing pool was one of the best times in my life
John Fogerty=GREATEST SINGER IN THE WORLD!!!
Fwiw, the Louisiana border is about 30 miles from Texarkana.
back home i have olive fields
In our world were everything revolves around politics and bad news. Where people can't seem to get along with each other. It's kind of nice to stop and listen to a free spirited song and forget about it all.
i dont speak english but i love creedence
Yet you just typed English
My father would always sing this song when I was young..will always remind me of him.

yo this song is cool
Recently lost my dad but he loved singing this song while playing the guitar.
Gotta love this
This is a lot tighter than the Leadbelly version. The earlier one isn't even syncopated; it's just klunky as hell.
Like he was rhythm deaf. It is entirely possible, btw.

Every mornin' I listen to it. I'm 13 so my friends find it weird for me to listen to this type of music. Nevermind song is awesome
Theres nothing better than people playing their banjos at the bayou, drinking moonshine and eating jambalaya. Long life to rock and roll. ✌
I'm not a great fan of the Beach Boys but their version is a lot better.
The Johnny Cash version is pretty good too!
@Robert Walton .. Not bad but pointless .. Hope he didn't say he wrote it like he he said he wrote " Folsom Prison Blues ". Because " Folsom " it's juste the 1948 Muddy Waters' tune : " Can't be Satisfied ". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CakqPuwFAIc
CCR's music was a true gift from God.
The best version of this track by far, what a band👌
It’s amazing how many bands covered Lead Belly songs, whether they were old folk songs or were written by him.
THIS SONG SOOTHES MY SOUL
I grew up in the Santa Cruz mountains a bit south of where CCR is from. I used to hike old deer trails through the redwoods by myself. I swear I saw these 4 coming the other direction towards me single file. I didn't know who they were at the time. I was frightened by them as rarely did other humans go up those remote trails and we kids were taught to fear hippies should we encounter them. I tore off running back home.
Years later in the Navy we docked in Oakland. I walked around the city nothing to do but stretch my legs. I came upon the Duck Kee market, thinking, "I know I've seen this place somewhere before". Some time later I realized it was the Willie and the Poor Boys album cover.
It's country music?
This is a song my dad loved, he always sang it to us. I miss him, wish he was around to see all his beautiful grandkids. Thanks for this song been here, good memories❤️
I was looking all my life for this song since i was a child🎵 ❤❤😍😍
