When i first heard this song when I was around 9 when I walked into the living room when my mum was watching this, but now this makes my cry 😢

I haven't watched this show or listened to this song in months. But as soon as I heard Santino's opening note, I teared up

So mentally ill women making bad choices get upbeat, award winning musicals but mentally ill men are complete monsters and if they get a fumble comic book movie then they'll be emboldened to kill people?

Why do you use musicals in the plural sense as if there's thousands of stuff like this show out there. This show is like one of the very very few mainstream shows/musicals that destigmatizes mental illness and makes it real while ALSO portraying it accurately. Please stop crying misandry and maybe instead just focus on advocating for mentally ill _people_ as a whole??? Mentally ill women also face hardships and stigma!!! And its not like Rebecca is shown to be perfect either. This show recognizes that what Rebecca was doing was predatory and wrong, and that she still needs to be held accountable for her actions despite having an untreated mental illness.

Also the musical Dear Evan Hansen talks about a boy with anxiety who fucked shit up but he's literally the protagonist and not treated as a terrible monster. Yes, I agree that mentally ill people are treated as monstrosities in countless pieces of mainstream media, or just hysterical people. But this isnt just a men's issue it affects all genders.

I just finished the show the other day and this is one of my favorite songs. Sooo I was taking a shower and thought of Greg innocently and thought about this song and suddenly it hit me that this is basically My Way and I feel sooo embarrassed it took me that long to realize! Anyway this is a brilliant piece and I am late to the party but I am so thankful for the journey that Crazy Ex Girlfriend has offered me!!!!
