Cray, Robert - T-Bone Shuffle Lyrics

[Copeland vocals:]
Let your hair down, baby
Let's have a natural ball
Let your hair down, baby
Let's have a natural ball
If you don't let your hair down, woman
We can't have no fun at all

[Copeland solo]

[Collins vocals:]
Oh you can't take it with you
That's one thing for sure
Oh you can't take it with you
That's one thing for sure
There ain't nothin' in the world
That the T-Bone Shuffle won't cure

[Collins solo]

[Cray vocals:]
Run here, baby
Sit down on your daddy's knee
Run here, baby
Sit down on your daddy's knee
I've got something, pretty baby
Something's that's ailing me

Cray, Robert T-Bone Shuffle Comments

Outstanding Blues by the Masters! RIP Albert and Johnny, much love to you and the special Robert Cray...

  2. R.... C....

R.I.P Albert Collins 1932-1993 and Johnny Copeland 1937-1997. Albert Collins died from cancer at age 61 in Las Vegas,Nevada and Johnny Copeland died from heart surgery at age 60 in New York City.

  3. F.... G....

Actually I always thought Albert Collins was all wrong for this song.

  4. c.... ....

A Triumvirate/As Good As It Gets. Landmark. Triple Dynamite!!!

  7. K.... J....

Anyone know the BPM for this song?

    K.... J....

Which BPM it is can not be decided; this recording has no fixed pace. It differs along the time line. To achieve a good feeling in such music genres as blues you should not use a metronome. At the beginning of the song, BPM is about 132-134, in the middle it decreases to 128-130 and the end is a bit more stable at 130.

There's nothing like a good old 12 bar blues

Advise: what does "T-Bone" mean when used in a blues terminology? I know of two songs with that in the title - "T-Bone Shuffle" here & "Too Much T-Bone" by the Sea Hags. I can't figure it out even in context. Thanks.

    M.... J....

"T-Bone" refers to pioneering Blues giant T-Bone Walker.

    M.... J....

How did you find these songs without knowing the answer to that question?

    M.... J....

@Ben white The songs were on CD's I purchased back in the 1980's. That Sea Hags one stands as an all time favorite to this very day.

  12. M.... H....

One of the top points in modern blues. FAB.

    M.... H....

Magic Slim and Long John Hunter are the best.

  13. R.... C....

Alligator Records lost Albert Collins,Koko Taylor,Son Seals,Roy Buchanan,Katie Webster,Clarence Gatemouth Brown,Carey Brown,Fenton Robinson,Professor Longhair and Luther Allison. May you all rest in peace,R.I.P.

  16. W.... R....

Awesome. Bought this on LP when it came out. Great blues...

@Will Bytor I saw this record recently at a record store near me... I'm actually going there tomorrow and I'm hoping they still have it; but anyway, I was wondering, do you know who sings lead vocals on each track on the album? I remember seeing an old music concert on TV and Robert Cray was playing, and I liked his voice, so I was wondering which songs he sang lead on, if any? The Wikipedia page for the Showdown album is not very helpful...

  17. M.... K....

A C... Snappy fingers. What a wonderful player.
