Lawl, expect that Bell WROTE the song in the first place. It's like Bob Dylan and Jimmy Hendrix. Sure, Hendrix made a great version of All Along the Watch Tower, but Dylan's version will always be better because, ya know, he wrote the song. Liking both versions is fine, being a troll and saying one "sucks balls" is not.

I don't think that just because someone wrote the song it automatically makes that version of the song the best.

As much as I like Robert Cray and think that this isn't a bad job, it's not a patch on the William Bell version. I'd rate at as the 3rd best version I've heard.

Nice to hear Robert's take but one of the problems with making a cover of this song is that the original is probably the best produced track of all time and the studio secrets employed by those producers have long since been forgotten.
