Cowboy Junkies - The Good And The Bad Lyrics

Living is good when you have someone to share it with
Laughter is bad when there is no one there to share it with
Talking is sad if you've got no one to talk to
Dying is good when the one you love grows tired of you

Sugar is no good once it's cast among the white sand
What's the point in pulling the gray hairs from among the black strands?
When you're old you shouldn't walk in the fast lane
Oh, ain't it useless to keep trying to draw true love from that man

He'll hurt you, yes just for the sake of hurting you
And he'll hate you if you try to love him just the same
He'll use you and everything you have to offer him
On your way girl
Get out and find you someone new

From 'Miles from Our Home' , Michael was always an excellent songwriter and Margo's voice gives that point of passion , which is a constant on Cowboy Junkies' music .

  5. J.... Z....

Rare for a band to sound *better* live, yet here we are.

  7. G.... H....

Perfect! Better than on "Miles from our home"!!

    G.... H....

Always liked the album version on "Miles from our home" since it has a live feel to it.  But seen them live dozens of times and each time surpasses the album.  They just are a "see them live band".

They haven't lost a step, and Margo is mesmerizing as always This song is from 1998's "Miles From Our Home", the last Cowboy Junkies CD I shelled out actual money for and I'm happy to be revisiting this twenty years later. Maybe I'll actually get to see them live this year for the first time ever!

    C.... ....

Happy to say I've finally seen them live and bought the new CD. The show was transcendent. Shed a tear when they played "Crescent Moon" early in their set. ❤
