i must say i enjoyed counterparts so much more when they werent with pure noise. the audio engineering or what ever u wanna call it has changed so much, all u can hear now is the drums and the generic rythm and not the melodic aspect of the guitar its just in the background or it drowns it out at the very least. which sucks because the melodic aspect of the guitar playing is what i loved so much about counterparts, now it kinda just sounds the same as every other edgey band out there, ( not a musician so if what im saying doesnt make sense then idk how else to explain it)

With Jesse leaving there was a sense of apprehension with what Counterparts would come out with but damn, what a banger. They only know how to write amazing songs.

Okay completely stoked, the new album is preordered. Need this as soon as possible. Each song of them is so unique and full of emotions, yet heavy and aggressive. I thought Hell and Home was gonna be their magnum opus when I heard it and then they released TWFU and I was like "okay this is next level they probably won't be able to top this"

That's the biggest load of shit. Do you honestly think a band is doing more for their fans churning out shit they don't believe in, rather than making music that they're actually proud of?

Ethan Megenis-Clarke No there is no way completely abandoning their genre scene and fans was the only way to make them feel fulfilled. There is no way that all of them have no appreciation for playing and writing any type of hard music left in them. There is not a part of that album that resembles their former selves. I am all for changes in the sound of your music that make you proud to still do what you do and avoid putting out the same old stuff. However, there is no reason it had to come to this and that's why it is such a slap in the face of so many people. That's what makes counterparts a great example, they have progressed in their style but it all still has a counterparts feeling at the core. That's what brings on the feeling of abandonment when the new sound of hundredth rings in my ear. And if they didn't get any fulfillment out of the pleasure it was for us to listen to that music then that's shitty of them. This album could've been a side project that isn't hundredth, and maybe they could've figured out what they really needed to add or take from their old sound to fulfill them in the hardcore scene and not shit on so many people like me. I know you probably won't agree with me, but i hope you understand my side of things and the way i see things.

brendans always had one of the strongest lyrical games out there and thats definitely showing no signs of slowing down. also, i can definitely really feel the absence of jesses writing in this track, but not in a bad way at all. blake has brought a fresh new sound that still stays true to the counterparts sound. i couldnt be more stoked.

They may not be as big as they deserve yet, but I feel like a strong percentage of Counterparts fans consider them to be their favorite band, me being one of them. I'm super excited for this album and CP in general. It's awesome to see how dedicated Brendan is to this band. What with the member changes and all, a lot of people doubted if they could still put out that same great material that we're used to without drastically changing up the sound. I'm sure this song eliminated all doubt. Their consistency has been steady and they only get better and better. It's also really cool to see how confident they are about this album, calling it the best record they've ever done. I'm excited as fuck for this shit. Let's fucking go.
