Corgan, Billy - Walking Shade Lyrics

Look at ya now
Look at ya
Torn estates
Took forever
Couldn't wait on words, on sound

I just want you so
You're everything, so cold
The perfume of your rose in bloom
I just want you so
Anywhere I go
The chase, the bells below
Taken from my soul

On the 9th day God created shame

I'm out walking shade
To brush these fires aside
To calm the rising fight
To build you a new life

Should you choose
I've picked the best for you
It's your turn and my time to test
I'll second guess the rest

Look at ya now
Look at ya
Nothin's faced
Took advantage of my faith and called me out

I just want you so
You're everything I'm told
Dumb enough to scold this tongue
I just want you so
Anywhere I go
A kingdom for your rain
A pocket for your soul
I just want you so
You're everything although
The risk is getting close to you

I'm out walking shade
The sun is going out
The word is getting round
That I just want you so

    Jesus, make this stop.

  11. J.... T....

This song is extremely 80s, it sounds like New Order

  12. P.... C....

    Complete! Brilliance.......

  13. m.... h....

The perfum of you rose in bloom

  14. F.... S....

    Still here in 2019!

  15. O.... W....

    I love this man

  16. C.... C....

I wish this would be made available on Itunes or spotify. The fans want it WPC! I have to listen to it on Youtube all the time since my cd bit the dust.

  17. J.... S....

The album is titled the "The Future Embrace" for a reason . I have been a Pumpkins fan since Gish. I just want your soul !

    J.... S....

    you got it

  18. B.... S....

What's this his solo shit?? Lol

  19. w.... ....

in 2018, this video feels particularly dated, with its use of cheesy computer renderings and graphics... i assume they had a pretty low budget. this song and album were ahead of their time, or behind the times, who knows? but it was a very strange album to drop in 2005 amid the post-grunge, white stripes, etc....

  20. R.... Z....

One my favorites singers and favorite bands smashing pumpkins.💜💜💜👍love billies solo album👌👍

  21. A.... ....

    Well done...william p corgan...

  22. N.... ....

I was looking for this song for years💕

  23. A.... H....

Loved this album when it came out I was fresh out of high school ..love the guitar sound to this day I'm still trying to replicate it

    A.... H....

It's clip distortion, modulation of some kind (probably chorus or modulated delay), delay, and reverb. That distortion sound is all in clip distortion/digital distortion.

  24. L.... R....

    Love you Billy Corgan ❤️❤️❤️

  25. m.... ....

this album is not in PlayMusic u.u

  26. D.... N....

    Very futuristic song

  27. m.... h....

Conheci essa musica em 2005. Em uma desventura amorosa. Minha antiga namorada estava terminando comigo enquanto essa música tocava no central mtv. Desde então não consigo parar de escutá-la. Lá se vão mais de 10 anos. Hj sou casado com aquela namorada. Irônico né?

  28. N.... C....

Amo demais essa musica !! Perfeita !! 🖤

  29. D.... S....

    Songs like i'm in future

  30. s.... c....

    I love this whole album.

  31. T.... D....

I need this entire album on vinyl ASAP. The sound of my teenage years.

  32. S.... C....

    beautiful song

  33. f.... ....

Love this song and the album

  34. S.... R....

    0:10 Love that look

  35. Z.... B....

Corgan, you milked it, but the milks gone bad. stick to cognitive dissonance, and enjoy what you did do. I saw you live over ten years ago...that was peak

    Z.... B....

you're not worth billy corgan's attention if you can't appreciate this record

  36. R.... G....

I remember a musical journalist from my country (Spain) telling after the launch of Melancholly that Billy had reached the point when the geniuses commit suicide. WTF I'm very happy to still enjoy his songs. (sorry for my bad english)

  37. S.... F....

I remember liking this when it came out because it reminded of a bit of Adore and still managed to keep that crafty melancholy sound. It even further explored elements of shoegaze and electronica. Definitely a high point in BC's career.

  38. a.... ....

This solo album is actually really brilliant. I love how Billy's signature writing style is evident....yet tonally it sounds unlike anything else he'd ever put out. At first I was iffy on the guitar tone....but now I honestly love it. It's the polar opposite of the bass-heavy big muff pi crunch Billy perfected through the 90s.....instead it's this cool shoe-gazey wash of tonality. And it really works. As with so much of Billy's work, it only sounds better as time goes on. I honestly don't think that will be the case with the latest string of utter let-down albums SP has released lately....but oh well. Billy's already proven himself _many times over_ to be a overwhelmingly prolific and undeniably creative songwriter....easily one of the best, if not the best, of his generation. So if the recent stuff falls flat....that sucks, but it doesn't bother me. Billy's already enriched my life with the sort of music 10 talented songwriters would be hard-pressed to create in their lifetimes. He's a musical genius....

  39. s.... f....

    (Thanks to Billy & Reverb.com)
I just scored 2 of the main amps that Billy used on this record and out on tour! Such a killer tone!

  40. D.... L....

I am not of the generation that used listen to him... It was my daughter who made me listen to him by giving me his album as a birthday gift, and short after that I bought all his albums ... I still have my daughter's photo with Billy...

    D.... L....

Very cool. Your daughter has great taste in music....and it's cool that you're open enough to embrace it as well!

  41. D.... L....

The best thing about Billy C is that there is only one singer like this. You cannot confuse him, his voice or style with anybody and anything. I remember his last concert in 2000 I think, it wss in Oberhausen, Germany...

  42. s.... m....

    * one second in*
me: oh- i love this song

  43. J.... L....

So pure, its remembers me Adore Era, the perfect single for The Future Embrace. A video very intellectual, in this way, Billy Corgan shows his heart honestly.

  44. S.... H....

Can someone explain to me the sound on this album? It is also present on Adore. Like, a lot of "wall of sound" mixed up with E-bow and untuned echoes....but I would like to know more about the production of this album, please?

    S.... H....

Modular synths, drum machines, and guitar

  45. s.... s....

his guitar sound on this album is just a thing of beauty

  46. J.... 2....

this video would been killer in 3D.

  47. s.... B....

    SMASHING PUMPKING  J'AIME

    s.... B....

    I just want you so..anywhere I go..

  48. L.... ....

Billy can do everything he wants. He is a great musician. I love this Neworderish sound.

  49. N.... B....

    I love this so much.

  50. M.... ....

If this album came out right now, it would have been viewed in a different light completely. I'll get in trouble for saying this, but it might have been ahead of it's time like Adore.
Maybe I'm just getting older and appreciate music differently. Yeah, probably just me.

    M.... ....

honestly you might be kinda right
at the time this was really misplaced and felt almost... stale? the drum sound didn't make much sense at the time i guess, sounded very "80s"

lo & behold, you have 80s drum sounds on damn near every pop song coming out these days

    M.... ....

A sudden nostalgia rush got me here, because I used to wear this album out 😁

    M.... ....

Meraxes billy is brilliant - he was ahead of the time in terms of musically and I don’t think when this was released many people still appreciated his work anymore and it’s tragic - his music is not what it use to be.. however I will always love him and I don’t regret the giant SP I have tattooed on my left arm ;)

    M.... ....

    u spot on

    M.... ....

youre right, i remember the musical climate in 2005 and Billy Corgan/Pumpkins couldnt have been more unpopular then, but this record was solid. still is

  51. K.... B....

Drum machine is horrible, but I gravitate towards bands with great drummers. I know Corgan is a great guitarist, so I'm not sure where that is, maybe he was just going for a different style. There was a lot of passion and amazing music in the old pumpkin days.

  52. d.... ....

    The Cure Pornography.

  53. Z.... O....

when this came out skrillex was part of from first to last, and i witnessed the fall of my chemical romance... good times

  54. T.... T....

    SO IS THE SONG!!!!

  55. T.... T....

FUCK!!! THIS VIDEO IS FUCKING AMAZING MAN!"!!!!

  56. E.... J....

Emilie did fantastic costume work for this video!

  57. D.... N....

well he had great hair back in 91', i am a big fan of sp and billys own stuff

  58. D.... N....

i too i was just randomly searching,..well he ever grow hair again lol Or is it some statement hes making?

    D.... N....

+Derek Nashkawa he cant grow hair

    D.... N....

do u know why? I've never read him mention why itd be interesting too know maybe jimmy chamberlain just stressed him out too much lol

    D.... N....

+Derek Nashkawa Look for the 666 Sessions, you'll notice that by 1995 he was almost completely bald already, despite being barely 28. Kind of like Arjen Robben, I guess.

    D.... N....

In "Bullet with butterfly wing" he was losin hair already

  59. S.... P....

this video is a bit crazy when you full screen it, and watch it stoned.... just sayin'

  60. E.... P....

    Waaaaoo!
What a wonderful video and song!
    Beautiful colours and 2D <-> 3D.

  63. L.... P....

Costumes designed by Miss Emilie Autumn :)

  64. D.... D....

    underrated!

  65. P.... ....

Really great song. It can only be good when Corgan has khol around his eyes and evoluates in XIXth century's ambience !

  66. J.... ....

This is great, it's like a goth pop throwback to Adore in a way.

  67. c.... m....

    smashing pumpkins?

    c.... m....

No. this was a solo album he did after he broke them up. (Later reformed them)
The album is called "The Future Embrace"

  68. C.... ....

this is just as new wave as depeche mode. and i didnt appreciate it when i was younger. cuz the singing isnt as good.

    C.... ....

    @Chris S. it's very Gary Numan

    C.... ....

@TheMarkintheheart yes he is good too. in cars

  69. C.... ....

Damn good song, the future embrace is a gem and is some of Corgan's finest work.

  70. G.... ....

This song and video are miles beyond the view count.

  71. M.... ....

Good song. Should have gotten more play.

  82. m.... h....

One of the most beautiful clips I have ever seen...A pure feeling in a perfect sound and image...Something we don't see anymore in this world...Pena que um sentimento tão bonito e importante para uma pessoa, é a expressão de um sentimento bobo, envergonhado e omisso para os outros=um aspecto do rock and roll...ininteligível...que desfaz as relações puras e saudáveis entre as pessoas que se identificam reciprocamente...muito além das meras fronteiras da vida.

  83. B.... C....

    Good times.

  84. R.... ....

    you blow me bud fuck

  85. K.... L....

No one gives a fuck you idioic bafoon. Stfu with the bullshit. Everyone is equal and deserves the same treatment. Listen to the music or fucking leave

  86. z.... ....

Why the heck are you arguing about races on a Billy Corgan video?

  87. M.... M....

Hey, you lot below me, shut up and listen.

  88. G.... ....

On your point of a diluted gene pool I refer you to the Heterozygous Advantage argument that I have also repiled with.

  89. G.... ....

...Now the BB or bb types are known as Homozygous, they contain two of the same types of Allile, but if they have Bb then they are heterozygous and therefore suseptable to somthing known as hetrosis which is also known as Hybrid vigour, which is the enhancement of certain traits in hybrid offspring. Much like a mixed breed dog. If your offspring to be the smartest and fittest they can be then you should have interatial relasionships. Michio Kaku's mother was Tibetan... His dad was American.

    G.... ....

Wow..what a fantastic comment..I think you would make a fine president indeed...

  90. G.... ....

I'd like to also talk about the Heterozygote Advantage. Take this for example, if you have a mother who has genetic code for blue eyes being: BB and the father has the code Bb then when they merge to form a child the possible options are BB (Blue eyes) Bb (Blue eyes with non blue eye code as well). But If a mother has Bb, as does the father than we increase our options; there can now be those aformentioned and one aditional phenotype: bb, which has not got blue eyes...

  91. G.... ....

We've done much, but think of how much more we could have done with more people. There are great physisists like Michio Kaku who understand more about how the world works than most. And his family is of Tibetan ancestery, he's famous for the String Field Theory amoung books such as "Parallel Worlds", "Hyperspace", "Physics Of The Imposible", "Physics Of The Future". If you think you know better than tell me in depth about String Field Theory.

  92. G.... ....

Yeah, and me... I'm white, and Ryan he's white, there are many more people who support the unification of people than those who opose it. Plus, think about what we could do if we impart our knowledge onto other races, the more people thinking the more things are thought and thus surely the more things are invented. There are less of us than there are the other races. Plus diffrent white people have diffrent cultural values, English people don't celebrate the sweedish Midsummer.

  93. G.... ....

Why do we need to say that one person is African and another is Asian? Its yet more labeling, without this labeling they are so similar on the surface that they are basically you, so why do we need to differentiate? We are all human, so why can't their be no need to discriminate against the African or Asians, no need to call them Asian or African even! Because people like you want to keep us in neatly defined categories! Personally, I don't want to be white if you are!

  94. R.... S....

    "Poindexter." lol
    Classic.

  95. R.... S....

Ahh. Well, at least your up-front about the bigotry and all.
    That'll do.

  96. R.... S....

    Because he speaks Spanish? lol
    HUGE stupidity.

  97. R.... S....

    Another creepy racist. Weird.
