David Fleming sounded rocky and heavy guitar riffs, it didn't sound like the old stuff more progressive, hope that helps lol I would say it's worth a listen

It's a grower

It won't get in the top 40 singles chart but nothing they've put out for years has. Where have you been for the last 15 years the singles chart is all generic shite made by a handful of people, nobody else gets a look in. I wouldn't call this rubbish but I do prefer their older stuff even becker had moments of brilliance. I did like quite a few songs on the last album too they've shifted from songs with a lot of melody and many chords to a simpler heavier / psychedelic style. At times it does work I think but it's not for everyone.

True there is hope with album sales some good music gets through with those still. The Coral are like The Stranglers because they did many B sides better than most bands best work. The Curse Of Love was shelved and yet brilliant glad they finally released it. The big change was the main guitarist leaving I suppose they've had to adapt. I'm just glad they still have the enthusiasm to carry on and I know they'll hit some songs that we like again because they're still a band full of talent but if they continue with the current direction good luck to them for just doing what they want, if you don't make music for yourself firstly then you're doing it wrong in my book. As soon as you do it for the crowd that's just a bit cynical and fake.
