Cooper, Alice - Never Been Sold Before Lyrics
You ask me, baby
Can you work tonight
I've been up, babe
Since broad daylight
I just can't believe
That you're sellin' me
You never sold me before
I just can't recall
You're like a whore
Oh yeah, I'm bad tonight
You really like my style
If you want me
Can't even buy my smile
(*)
Now I find come around
Just to lay this money on you, babe
I'm sick of tradin' tricks and dicks
And I'm, I'm really sick of you
Oh I -
**
Never been sold before
And I'll never be hurt again
No, I never been sold before
And I'll never be hurt again
I just can't believe
That you're sellin' me
You never sold me before
I just can't recall
You little whore, no no no no no
Never been sold before
And I'll never be hurt again
No, I never been sold before
And I'll never be hurt again
(**)

Cooper, Alice Never Been Sold Before Comments
I always pick Big Apple Dreamin, Hard Hearted Alice and Woman Machine when clicking songs off this album. This one is good too but those 3 get most play on my headphones.

GREAT album!!
Damn i bought this album as a child in a countryshop, like: Nittingstuff, socks, canned food, Alice Cooper , .... what?
the rest is history <3
Surfing YouTube, heard this new song by GLITTER DOGS.
https://youtu.be/_scV0T2-a4M
Sounds like old school 70’s music! 3 albums on Spotify. Check it out!
This song was going through my head on the way home from work just now. I come home and my wife is wearing the Alice shirt I bought from the 2003 tour that doesn’t fit me anymore. Go figure 😃
Hell yeah love this track to death!
Good song but the horns kind of ruin it.
your brother allen told me otherwise. he said you sold yourself for alcohol once. i believe it happened more often than. that was the last straw for me, when you wanted me to hang out with your biker dicks. it doesn't matter to me. you always gave yourself to me for free. you never even asked me for as much as a lousy pack of cigarettes or a beer. god bless you for that, sweet friend. that is your true nature to be generous and giving of yourself. people take advantage of you. i will help you put a stop to that.
Great killer song. The guitar solo with brass is phenomenal, the band mixes rock and musical, an extraordinary musical talent
Good old time rocker..!
I've never heard this album before. I lost interest when Bob Ezrin covered Billion Dollar Babies with strings. This album is very average!!
this album is NOT average in any way, thank you :)
this guy killed everything he did
They were a band, it wasn't just Vince back then.
@Anthony Socco. Great album, but ur right, Song order should have been different. And ur opinion ain't stupid bro.
you wont believe this,...was doing a 'Killer' thing,..went to my records,...opened up my 'Muscle of Love',..all original and perfect,..and also I had stashed an' The Alice cooper show' record in there,..lmfao,..who does that kind of shit?!! I DO !
Whoay yeeeeaaaaaaahhhhh!!! :-)
Man, what a great riff.
i can just smell that smoke and
remember the incense chaser
.....and all those kool prism stickers......whaaaaa!
under the radar before they had one
Don't forget the black light posters....!
Alice Cooper's most underrated album, along with da da and special forces. all 3 are brilliant and much better than the more popular but awful trash. I love everything the coop has released apart from that sell out
Me too. I love his new wave era almost as much as his best 70s albums. Albums like Flush the fashion, Special Forces and Dada are very special to me
I think the Coop was of the same opinion, that's why they named it "Trash". It was pure garbage compared to his earlier stuff. He admits that his various addictions were peaking out and the quality of his music was at its lowest at the time...
@Doug Durrum He was way past his addictions when Trash was released, the album title has nothing to do with his previous recordings.
Opening riff kind of sounds like 'Hair of the Dog'.
This song came out first, though.
@Ulli Michel Ahhh, very true
There is a big Aerosmith sound to this album.
Your right, I never thought of that... and I bought both albums the year each came out.
I can't believe I let my membership at the Institute of Nude Wrestling lapse.I wonder if they'll let me transfer my credits?
this is a good cock rock album.
Check out GLITTER DOGS. Self produced and recorded 70's style rock.
https://youtu.be/3KRDRXCPZR8
Also on Spotify...
COCK MUSCLE
Ok. He had me at: "I'm sick of streets, and chicks and dicks, and I'm really sick of you!"
Forever.
Was turned on to Alice cooper in 2nd grade by my older brother. And my mom would take me to the record store and buy me albums, cuz she was into rock n roll
such a kickass album!
ALICE COOPER RULES!!!!
Now that our people recognize will pets and whores get the epiphany so we can cash in on our health Bens for Tix To The Planet Big Apple?
And never be. Again
I think this shoulda been the song to kick off Side One....followed by Crazy Liitle Child, then Big Apple Dreamin' and ended by Hard Hearted Alice. Just my stupid opinion....
Whatever............... one of the best albums ever. The best by the band in my opinion.
@Toon Weekers *AGREED* Absolutely their pinnacle!
This _would_ be a better opening song.
Wow. So this is where KISS got their sound.
@ClintexL2b I told people that back then and they would say "No way". But as usual, they were mental midgets when it came to actually listening to music. They were too caught up in the theatrics. All they had to do is listen, but Nooo….
Why insult Alice Cooper that way? There is absolutely NO comparison. Alice Cooper is high quality music for rock fans. Kiss is low quality theatrics for clown fans. There is NO similarity in the sound coming from your speakers. The nerve you have!
@Dill Hole As in "good stuff for clown lovers". AC is music. Kiss is kiddy theatrics.
@Doug Durrum Kiss were a dangerous and intense band in the early days, sure Bob Ezrin sat them down an told 'em how it should be to create Destroyer. Not a bad record and you might recognise 1 or 2 solos are identical to 1 or 2 on the Goes To Hell record. The pre 76 KISS was serious rock group,I think their music of that time stacks up. KISS were more of a spectacle than theatrics, but hey, sometimes we want a funpark ride and that's what KISS did.
@Doug Durrum, you are most likely a clown and I got no problem with that.
So bad ass love this song
what a sick mother f***** buddy rocks like nobody else
smoking cigarettes in the basement listening to this album on my Phillips turntable... the original air guitar kids
inthesurf 07 don't forget about the alcohol along with air guitar
:) Amen man, amen <3
My favorite track on this album
i cant believe i found this in the cut out section.....still have my notched cardboard copy
I also got mine out of the cutouts....about years ago.
Wish Alice cooper would of kept orginal band early cooper was great as a solo not worth the effort best was love it to death billion dollor babys and greatest hits favorite cooper song teenage lament 74.......
I respectfully disagree. While I like the original band, some of his later bands were actually more technically skilled. Yes the original band made some really good albums, but there are plenty of solo albums I like even better such as WTMN, From the Inside, The Last Temptation, Brutal Planet, etc. Muscle of Love was one of Alice's weaker albums in my opinion.
Punctuation. Use it.
So fuckin cool that this was the music I grew up with. Still fuckin rocks!!
Nothing like early Cooper guitar work.
@raymond lang first 2 albums stunk so bad i kinda liked them lol
https://youtu.be/FiZx4TzMU1k lol old alice
@gary coker Was one of the two called Pretties for You??
@raymond lang yep and easy action i have both
@gary coker I have only heard bits of the albums, so will check them out in full on youtube later. I would imagine they are like late 60s pop/rock. Then it happened with Love It To Death classic!!
ROCK ON!
Love Muscle of Love
almost better than Killer
+Rich Thompson No way! Killer was much better, especially "Halo Of Flies" which was my all time fav Cooper band track. Of course all of their albums could be considered best because they were such a polished professional unit from Love It To Death to Muscle Of Love. They had the world at their feet and then Cooper ran for a touch down......and he's still going on and on and on
This is a unnoticed song that harks back to Love It to death album.
+slimedog No, it harkens back to the Muscle Of Love album, period. Each album stands as a monument of creativity in itself and surpassed everything else at the time. After that Alice Cooper broke away from the band to establish a long enduring monumental career which I hope never ends.
Thumbs up, Brian!
