Cooper, Alice - Dead Babies Lyrics
Little Betty ate a pound of aspirin she got them from the shelf upon the wall
Betty's mommy wasn't there to save her she didn't even hear her little baby call
Dead babies can't take care of themselves dead babies can't take things off the shelf
Well we didn't want you anyway lalalalalalalalalalala
Daddy is an agrophile in Texas mommy's on the bar most every night
Dead babies can't take care of themselves dead babies can't take things off the shelf
Well we didn't love you anyway lalalalalalalalalalala
Goodbye little Betty goodbye little Betty so long little Betty so long little Betty Betty so long
Dead babies can't take care of themselves dead babies can't take things off the shelf
Well we didn't need you anyway lalalalalalalalalalala goodbye little Betty

Cooper, Alice Dead Babies Comments
Sinister as it should be..in this fucked world🖤
This record is a Killer
Though AC made great albums in the early 70s and I loved them, this song has an eerie and sad deliberate abandonment feeling to it.
Because I was able to write down this song's lyrics by ear (I'm not a native English speaker in case you hadn't guessed) and because I had painted the album's artwork on my backpack, Killer will always remind me of high school. And my time in HS was in the mid-2000s, not the early 1970s...
Good Bye little Baby

This song haunts me, the "we didn't want you, anyway" part reminds me of my mother telling me I wasn't planned and she'd never have stayed with my father if I hadn't appeared...
Happy childhood memories 👌😂
Daddy is an agrophile in Texas mommy's on the bar most every night...
I thought it was necrophile.

In the late 60s and early 70s everyone was peace and love, then came wicked Alice that brought gruesome reality. It's awesome .
the alice cooper album came out in 1969, look up the album "pretties for you"
They were Dangerous, Subversive!
One of my favorite Alice songs.
This is a fun tune to play on gtr...lotta neat stuff going on, halo of flies is wicked fun to play as well. <\M/>
Ezrin - good producer.
I have since then taken the pound of aspirin I like to keep on the shelf, and locked it in the gun safe along with the agrophile porn. No harm done, it's only one baby. We can make another. It won't happen again. I promise.
Killer and Billion Dollar Babies definitely top 20 albums all time with David Bowie's T9 Rise and fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars.
Alice Cooper is a rock and roll legend with Glenn Buxton Dennis Dunaway Neil Smith someone help I think there was a Mike also do I have the names right?
Steve Birchall...yes, Micheal Bruce
One of my favorite songs! 👏👏👏
I’m just getting into him, and I’ve been wondering the whole time why I never listened to him sooner!
They have soooo many songs I didn’t know I knew, you know?
Because the radios overplay School’s Out and No More Mr. Nice Guy, so I just thought he was some bland rocker from the 70’s with two hits - which was shitty of me. Now I know I was WAAAAAY WRONG! WAAAAAY WRONG!
He’s one of my favorite singers, and they’re one of my favorite bands!
Musical geniuses!
🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
My parents never understood how I could be a fan of a man named Alice who wore eye makeup. They thought I was becoming a liberal hippie freak but they also didn’t understand I was listening to the words. I grew up joined the military. Got married. Had kids and worked for the same company for 42 years. If you listen to his words, he’s telling you to have fun, rebel a bit, love and take care of your family, respect women, and stay straight. If more people had listened closer.
Too many people listen to this song and don't listen to the lyrics it's not about killing babies it's about people that create them and don't intend on raising them
My grandmother told me about this song
This is actually a great song. Always loved Alice Cooper. Typical epic operatic song from the coop band
One of the first albums I ever bought
1972 was my year for loving this band - I still have the LP's, and all of his records...
I think it was Johnny Rotten that called Killer the greatest rock album of all time!!!! Even over Sgt. Peppers. Wow.
Way better than Sgt. Peppers.
Nowadays it would be a firearm or fentanyl that little Betty would get into.
Little Betty ate a pound of aspirin
She got them from the shelf upon the wall
Betty's mommy wasn't there to save her
She didn't hear, hear her little baby call
Dead babies can't take care of themselves
Dead babies can't take things off the shelf
Well, we didn't want you anyway
Lalala-lalalalalala-la
Daddy is an agrophile in Texas
Mommy's on the bar most every night

Mommy did'nt love you anyway.........

"Some I feel like a dead baby."
Such a classick!!!
I loved it when they used this song in the campaign for child proof medicine bottle caps.
No way. Not in England anyway
He is the king behind VINCENT PRICE
Hello Babies...
Child abuse song /long before it was talked about in public..........
Dead Babies started the anti crib death syndrome movement , think about it ?
Does anybody knows who recorded the beautifull high pitch/female voice that appears on the chorus of this magnificient song? Is it Michael Bruce's falsetto or a true female singer? It seems to be the same person/ voice screaming in the opening end of "killer".
Knew all the words to this song since I was four.
we used to listen to this album every day at lunch in high school while getting high..in the home town of Alice Cooper
Nirvana copied this
A song that will remain relevant as long as people forgo responsibility.
my mom saw them live but i've never heard them really before looking them up today after remembering her say she went to this tour.
I love this song! The original Alice Cooper Band!
Teach you to watch your kids 😨
Classic - this is the first rock record I was exposed to by my brother - around age 4, and im now
48! :)
It’s about bad reckless people impregnating should not be parents.
My pops used play the fuck out of this when I was small
Mom hated it and it scared the shit out of my sisters and I
