Coombes, Gaz - 20/20 Lyrics

Bottle-eyed and sitting around in the sun
The water's high and the time hides you there
It all leads to the prize and to the girl in mind
The endless race to the end of the line

It's alright, the end's in sight. Worry fades the soul away
I'll take the hurricane for you
Who am I? Who am I? I couldn't operate
God knows I wanted to

It's alright, the end's in sight. Worry fades the soul away
I'll take the hurricane for you
Who am I? Who am I? I couldn't operate
God knows I wanted to

Looking out I feel the lights of the cars
Innocence, fallen pain
If I make the night, I'm home and dry

Your love in the morning, hearing the city song
Lay your heart down on mine
No need to cry, we're home and dry

It's alright, the end's in sight. Worry fades the soul away
I'll take the hurricane for you
Who am I? Who am I? I couldn't operate
God knows I wanted to

It's alright, the end's in sight. Worry fades the soul away
I'd take the hurricane for you
Who am I? Who am I? I couldn't sink that stone
God knows I want it, want it, want it, want it all
God knows I want it, want it, want it, want it all

Serious Radiohead vibes from this ones but with that Coombes optimism

Even though i've always loved Supergrass i never really listened to Gaz's solo stuff but by christ i'm glad i did as this is absoluetly stunning....

Unsure whether you've got Matador yet, but from start to end it's brilliant.

He played here in Rotterdam a couple of months ago, and I was taken back by how he played completely alone, no backing band, and no support act. Moreover, his set featured one Supergrass song, and that was the final song of the encore. I was so impressed by the quality of his own material, which in my opinion outweighs what he did with Supergrass.
