Cooder, Ry - Jesus On The Mainline Lyrics
I know Jesus is on that mainline
Tell Him what you want
Jesus is on that mainline
Tell Him what you want
Jesus is on that mainline
Call Him up and tell Him what you want
Well, the line ain't never busy
Tell Him what you want
Wo, that line ain't never busy
Tell Him what you want
Well, the line ain't never busy
Tell Him what you want
Keep on calling Him up
And tell Him what you want
Well, if you want His kingdom
Tell Him what you want
If you want His kingdom
Tell Him what you want
If want His kingdom
Tell Him what you want
Call Him up, call Him up, call Him up, call Him up
You can call Him up and tell Him what you want
Well, if you're sick and wanna get well
Tell Him what you want
Well, if you're sick and you wanna get well
Tell Him what you want
If you're sick and you wanna get well
Tell Him what you want
Call Him up and tell Him what you want
And if you're feeling down and out
Tell Him what you want
And if you're feeling down and out
Tell Him what you want
And if you're feeling down and out
Tell Him what you want
Call Him up and tell Him what you want
I know Jesus is on that mainline
Tell Him what you want
Jesus is on that mainline
Tell Him what you want
Jesus is on that mainline
Tell Him what you want
Call Him up, call Him up, call Him up, call Him up
Call Him up and tell Him what you want

Marvelous.... and as musician, you want to play with them, be a part of them.
does he have a glass eye?
Yes left eye, noticeable in this more current picture. http://mediamass.net/jdd/public/documents/celebrities/6500.jpg
Thank you
una delle migliori canzoni del grande Ry Cooder, se venisse in Italia
Never seen a mandoguitar before. I've seen electric mandolins, but never one with 12 strings. Cool.
Honestly besides the guitar I think the mandolin is one of the most versatile instruments across all genres. It always fits.
No fence but, the piano player looks like the KFC dude.
Van dyke parks in the flesh
hello ry, thank you again for your music .
simply love these vocals, thanks for posting
cooder you are the man
I've ALWAYs loved this- sometimes I just start singing back up- someone said Ry Cooder could sing at my funeral- AMen to that- I talk to him the time- not sure he's listening- I meant jesus- but Ry Cooder would be cool-

A talent for the ages. I am grateful this artist dropped into this world.

It's true. Jesus really is on the mainline!
Peter O'Brien Amen
I could listen to this tune all day.
EXCELLENT STUFF
I can visualise Mr. and Mrs. Trucks doing this rather well! Hard to improve on this though.
sum fine players
j j cale was a personal selection of my list of those. That he wrote so many good songs and other musicians did make them lst generation great...... All in the afterthought of what this is about. Joe Satriani was the surfing with the alien guy I mentioned in an earlier rendering for great compositional artistry.
He is of the kind, that makes me feel great, just by the mention of his name. These type artist, rare to find and in short supply always.....Like Eric, like willie, and Johnny .....and even in the likes of the surfing with the alien guitarist whos name slips my present sleep deprived mind. There are some musicians that the mere mention of their name, and the good feelings overtake my attitude. Ry, he too holds that kind of presence.....it could be the music choices, it could be the quality of the music and musicians around each performance. Mostly, I think it comes down to what I ve learned in the years of their personal efforts. to expect yet another heart feeling as well as filling adventure down the road of imagination. Time for the modern flash to find its Greatness in great music again and not the cheap thrill antics of what passes for contemporary hits.
Many, many and many good songs has he done...
What tuning would the mando guitar b in open d?
I loved this Album. Paradise and Lunch. One of my all time fave songs
Fantastic. All of them. Early Ry Cooder LP's are real gems. Saw him with Bobby King & Terry Evans in the 80's. I don't think he's been back to Toronto since. Too bad!
@laura_bue
this guy is so awesome and i love this song. never heard another version as good as this
@Lois Pulliam Indeed. Me neither. And just killin' it on solo from 3:15 to 4:00.
priceless back vocals as well
Always been a favorite of mine...this man has such talent. Will listen to him forever...cannot abide the new bubble gum music made by girl clones which all sounds alike.
@Nancy Edmondson best of all... Hey Josephine, concert for New Orleans....
+Nancy Edmondson "bubble gum music made by girl clones which all sounds alike"....love it-great comment.
music is an art ,better if you can actually sing or play something . ugly bands are the best I find eg Fucus and canned heat or Fairport . (an old hippy)
Agreed!
keltner
@Bruce Wells on the drums
One and Only!!Ry Cooder!
Call Him up and tell Him what you want!

wowww.... Ry Cooder !!! <3 <3 <3
Simply, greater! Ry Cooder, one of my favorites guitar players...
Vitor Mendes
Amen!
I. Love. Song
Tearing up that mandolin
Don't neglect the vocal group and the Maker of those folks in your praises.
u a good boy. don't mess with my savior.
Is that a Hammertone Octave 12 string guitar?
this is a VOX mandoguitar made in Italy 12 strings , better if tuned in open c or in open d, better if played with slide . A famous beatles song is played with this italian guitar :"words of love" .
Ry Cooder is the crème de la crème.
