Connie Francis - Delilah Lyrics

He saw the light on that night as he passed by her window
He saw the flickering shadows of love on her blind
She was his woman
But as she deceived him he watched and went out of his mind

My, my, my Delilah
Why, why, why Delilah
Then he said "That girl is no good for me"
But he was lost like a slave that no man can free

At break of day when that man drove away he was waiting
He crossed the street to her house and she opened the door
She stood there laughing
He felt the knife in his hand and she laughed no more

My, my, my Delilah
Why, why, why Delilah
Then before they came to beak down the door
He told his Delilah he just couldn't take anymore

She stood there laughing
He felt the knife in his and and she laughed no more

My, my, my Delilah
Why, why, why Delilah
Then before they came to break down the door
He told his Delilah he just couldn't take anymore

Forgive him, Delilah, he just couldn't take anymore

her last MGM LP Songs of Les Reed was among her greatest! I never once saw it in a store when it was new (1970) and had to order mine from Citadel Record Club....a off set of Capitol Record club in 1972....my entire family loved that album, and I had to order 1 for each of my 2 brothers and an uncle!....Kiss Me Goodbye, What's Wrong With My World, Don't Say A Word and Lifetime of Love....all great!

Good evening,John. Did you hear it? I mean did you hear it when the power in her voice broke free during the last four words of the song? Thanks for sharing. the song,my friend. You'll notice that I didn't embarrass myself by going on and on about the woman's voice.Take it easy,John.
