Confederate Railroad - The Big One Lyrics
It was a hot Sunday mornin'
Middle of July
The choir was a singin'
'Bout the sweet by and by
And sweatin' in the heat
We all bowed our heads down
As the preacher took his seat
My sister and my brother stood next to my mother
In the quiet at the close of the verse
That's when daddy cut the big one
At the Horn Lake Mississippi Missionary Baptist Church
My sister rolled her eyes back
My cousin just behind us
Whispered, "Hey, who let it rip?"
I stuck my face in my shirtsleeve
Stared down at my shoes
Lord, you could hear a pin drop
As we stood there in the pew
Heads were turnin', eyes were burnin'
Momma stuck her nose in her purse
After daddy cut the big one
At the Horn Lake Mississippi Missionary Baptist Church
He cut the big one
It was a stinker
Then he broke the silence
With a snicker
And us kids started laughin'
'Til I thought we was all gonna burst
After daddy cut the big one
At the Horn Lake Mississippi Missionary Baptist Church
He said, "The devil made me do it"
Momma said it was the liverwurst
And that's why daddy cut the big one
At the Horn Lake Mississippi Missionary Baptist Church

I'm still laughing.
really love this singer love his voice thanks
muy buena rola...
When you got to cut one... you got to cut one
you haven't heard this on country bc they are considered soft rock
How is Confederate Railroad soft rock? They have always been Country. The problem is that today's Country music is considered soft rock. The only Country music left is now considered classic. You have to wait for George Strait to come out with something new to hear Country music again. Otherwise you are screwed.
Where do you live California?
That song was about me
this reminded me of my family in a different state
good song
haha im dying
ya funny y'all
This is a really funny song

I do remember our country station in California cat country 103 playing this on Fridays at the 5 o'clock hour. Before that, they would play George Jones Friday song, then the big one, proceeded by Hank Williams Junior I'm going to knock the hell out of you. It's just too bad they can't play those songs anymore. I don't know why.
I can see this happen wend I go to church 😂😂😂😂😂
I also let one of those out but it was an ice ring and my little girl made sure everybody knew it was me. LOL from santa marta, colombia.
LOL! Kids will do that.
Why hasn't my country station ever played this? Time for a REQUEST!!!

When it was new, WFMB in Springfield, IL played it once, for sure. I heard it. It didn't take long for them to pull it.

made me giggle!!
My radio station Kat Country 103.3 would play this song and put fart sound effects when it said daddy cut the big one
They came to my town a few years back and this song was on their playlist for the night. Let me tell you, EVERYONE in the crowd was rolling on the floor. I can't imagine how many takes it took Confederate Railroad to record this without losing it.
Probably had to string together the ones where they got farther along before cracking up.
"OK, I can fix that!"
sorry for your lost ahaha
People wonder why I take a gas mask to church. Terrorists my eye.
my daddy cut the big one and my dog died!!!
