Concrete Blonde - I Don't Need A Hero Lyrics

You always said I was a liar
But we burn like a house on fire
No matter what, you know that to be true
And everything you gave to me
Changed everything I used to be
Much more than anyone I ever knew

And I don't need a hero
I don't need a soldier
I did when I was younger
But now that I am older
I don't need a father
I don't wanna be your mother
It's just that anyone of us is half
Without another one is you
Is you

The colours of that piece of time
Are still so fresh inside my mind
And it makes the movie
Of my life seem pale
And all the games I have to play
I got to give a lot of me away
But the part with us
Will never be for sale

And I don't need a hero
I don't need a soldier
I did when I was younger
But now that I am older
I don't need a father
I don't wanna be your mother
It's just that anyone of us is half
Without another one is you

The words of love have been confused
The ways of love have been abused
Is this a lottery you win or lose?
I don't know
It's an endless circle over time
The place inside where I hold and find
Your sweet and happy music in my soul

And I don't need a hero
I don't need a soldier
I did when I was younger
But now that I’m so much older
I don't need a father
I don't wanna be your mother
It's just that anyone of us is half
Without another one is you
Is you

    Indoor Diversification and the Future:
The songs and videos are like information warfare in a world already well-bred into its escapist values, although they're probably safer than walking the streets.  With machine learning and comments, it's like a virtual reality paradise.  If there is a Matrix, then this is it in its beginnings.  If there is a problem, there will be a Neo.  Population and love happen.   Don't worry about a nuclear family or love.  They happen also to those who seek it.  The future is definitely in personal algorithms and virtual workforces. From homeschooling to virtual militaries and drones, I can see the future.  There are some face to face meetings, perhaps, in engineering, or films and video, or farming, or medical fields.  More sunblock and a little butter in your information. Less touring for the bands.  If global warming has a future then we have VR.  I'm into it.  I declare the computer "North."  Like any war, the fewer casualties the better and strategy is the key, but this is definitely big.  These retail workers are like slaves.  Virtual friends require virtual games.  Think about virtual tickets.  I envision a home-based military and less need for travel and public school issues.  Computers are both the gunpowder of the future and the ticket to it.  It's a new form of the cotton gin.  Beware the change.  Maybe, transition funding?  We haven't even begun to tap the power of computing.   In the possibility of a conflict, I envisage an inside army and an outside rebellion.  Consider long distances and diverse areas instead of collected meetings and groups.  Tragedies such as 9/11 and Columbine shootings can be avoided.  You just have to accept that police patrol the internet like the street.  A nuclear bomb only takes out about a 2-mile circumference.   I use a gaming PC and have a spare.  Anyone with two computers can have a disconnected workhorse disconnected as an intranet to avoid hackers.   * Some Amazon TM required. 3/9=27, 27/6=3.

Soooh life, and codependent also. Welcome. Lol.

  11. Treff Bennett

Johnette's voice says she's forgotten more about life than we'll ever know.

    sean jokela

I think she's just more in touch with herself, but forgot about how other people feel. I feel like empathy provides for a better peace overall, but I hear peace in her voice.... on to "live & let die" c ya

Because I'm already strong, and I'm already quick, and I'm always ready to fight.

Food for deep thought' Thank you for sharing this in the post Heroin era! Hope cure for all addictions is around the corner in R&D!

Bloodletting, my all time favorite album ever...simply because I love every single song on the album. They are ALL awesome. None I skip over or tune out until a better song comes on. I have not found that with any other album, not even in bands or singers I like better...

    Tim Marrier

Yes, this album is a rare gem indeed. Such is rare, no doubt, from start to finish always special, never gets old. She is a spectacular singer and storyteller, always breathtaking too, almost like I had not heard it before.
Oh, yes sing the stories of my life again......

    ran doshus

Their previous album Free is perfect as well.

@Trey45S I woke up feeling a bit melancholy this morning and had a remembrance of a girl I knew so many years ago. This song kept running through my mind. The lyrics are more meaningful today than they were 25 years ago.....

    Crazy Peacock

Thanks soo much for the lyrics!!!

    Amy King

+Crazy GamerGirl Nice lyrics but this song is pretty understandable
