Concrete Blonde - Help Me Lyrics

Maybe it's just a phase
The days and the nights
And the nights and days
Of all the tossing and turning
And churning and burning
Inside my brain
Or maybe I'm finally insane
But I don't know what I believe anymore
It's like I'm caught in some revolving door
Going over and over
And over and over and

Teach me how to pray
Tell me what to say
Help me
Help me
Help me find my way

I never could play their game
You know that all your faces look the same
And I won't give up
Won't give in
You know I never want to be like them
Well, I'm ticking away like time
You know I'm out of sync
And I'm out of my mind
You know I used to know a truth from a lie
Just by looking in their eyes

Carry me away
Further and further
And further every day
Help me
Help me
Help me find my way

I'm hanging by a thread
And the waves of confusion
Break down on my head
And when I think of all the things you said
Well, the words fall dead

Higher every day
A price I swore I'd never pay
Help me
Help me
Help me find my way
Help me find my way.

In the 80s and even yet the 90s there was Music, Music, Music!! What happened then ? Flushing our culture down the toilet. I cannot accept only I because I grew older. I love Music back until the stone age.

OMG this is such a monster. God damn...the band shoulda been HUGE!

    r.... ....

Only huge with the tragically cool!

she said in an interview that the record company couldn't find any tracks on Bloodletting to release as a single... I find that hilarious. this album is good too. they deserved more recognition.

@::Feukka:: In fairness to IRS, that's not at all true. I worked there when this album was released. They busted their asses to get "Joey" on the radio and they did. There are plenty of reasons CB did not enjoy more success -- and the blame can be shared equally by the label, the band, and the corrupt US radio programmers that kept some of the best music ever recorded off US airwaves. (Read the classic "Hitmen" for a better analysis on that. https://www.amazon.com/Hit-Men-Brokers-Inside-Business/dp/0679730613)

eh it was just something she had mentioned they said to her during the making of Bloodletting, not trying to stir the pot or anything. i'll check Hitmen out.
