I remember watching this with my mom, and her friend and daughter. I used to be kinda upset when he won, as we were kindoff laughing about him not being a man nor female or something like that. After all those years i've noticed how foolish i was back then. I think i was about 9 or 10 back then. Now, in 2020 I am totally supportive of the lgtbq+ community, and look up to my amazing transgender brother.

At that time it really was like a freedom break free song for everyone who is lesbian, gay, bi or trans. A statement that we are visible and never will go away or let us get oppressed. And that Conchita won really was the cherry on top. Just such a powerful performance and a proof how talented many lgbt people are. It's very sad to see that many people can't see the beauty in things like that and just judge because the person who sang belongs to a minority.

we talked about the ESC in my English class today so i came back to see Conchita perform.
Back in 2014, i was 12 years old and didn't understand anything about what she was doing. I didn't understand why such a beautiful woman has a beard i guess and i thought she was weird.
Now that i know about Drag and what it stands for i absolutely adore Conchita! Such a talented person💕

I remember when this was on TV. I was so surprised seeing a "woman" with a beard (still liked the song). I was shocked finding out that "she" was a "he". The following day my classmates (male) were talking trash, while I (the quiet kid) was just sitting in the corner wondering what the big deal was. So much drama. Now I'm just thinking that's normal and not something new.

First of the 2020's? Who knows... Worth it though... All these years later it's still one of my fav Eurovision songs, if not my favorite.
