Como, Perry - You'll Never Walk Alone Lyrics

When you walk through a storm, hold your head up high
An' don't be afraid of the dark
At the end of the storm is a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of the lark!

Walk on through the wind, walk on through the rain
Though your dreams be tossed an' blown
Walk on, walk on, with hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone...

You'll never walk alone!

Walk on, walk on, with hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone...
You'll never walk alone!

Sorry I accidentally hit the arrow before I had finished, then Celtic park started Playing Gerry's version which they now play to this day. When I have explained this on UTUBE before a Liverpool fan asked me to prove it, I can't because in that era the games where not televised like they are today but I certainly remember it even though I,m an old lady of 81 ,so to the young chap (if you happen to read this) I can tell by your photo with curly hair that you are young Celtic fans where singing it first.

  12. I.... M....

I remember standing at Celtic Park Glasgow with fellow Celtic supporters singing this song to my Favourite singer Perry Como way back in 1958 ,then when Gerry Marsden recorded it in 1963-64

Love this song. Even as a song from Carousel instead of a hymn it carries a message of hope to everyone. This , i believe, is what Perry Como's life was about. Thank you for this song.

    N.... H....

+Nathan Hassall Why have I never heard of your dad, or heard him sing anything?

  39. D.... K....

Brilliant Mr Como, absolutely wonderful. For all the religious nutcases, the song came from a film called " Carousel " and had nothing to do with sky fairies.

    D.... K....

    Only 100%,well that's a relief.

    D.... K....

@Douglas Kay While 'You'll Never Walk Alone' is not a hymn it is genuinely categorized as inspirational.  The context for this in the Broadway musical Carousel is that there exists divine guidance on earth and in heaven, Rodgers and Hammerstein meant it to be understood in that context as is self evident in the plot.

  40. C.... F....

A wonderful singer as well as a gentleman.  His voice was as smooth as silk and great to look at.  It was hard to believe his age at times.  Thank you Perry

  41. H.... ....

Temple Grandin Movie brought me here.

  42. B.... M....

  45. L.... N....

    I love the song.!

  46. G.... J....

To those who say that nobody does this better than 40,000 at Anfield, I would have agreed until Liverpool came to Australia during preseason of this season and played Melbourne Victory, with 96,000 singing it, simply wow. This song as it is gives me goosebumps, after the rendition in Melbourne, it gave me goose skyscrapers.

    G.... J....

Pish, Parkhead is where it's at

  47. L.... B....

  56. r.... ....

    IT IS TRUE.

  57. t.... ....

I bought this way back on an old EP and it's always been my favourite version of the song. Marty Robbins sang the song on his 'Spotlight' Television show in the mid 70's and did a brilliant take on the song. Sadly he never recorded the song on record.

  58. P.... D....

A Good and fair point, but as an LFC supporter since I was born..generally it is associated with LFC...That said I would admit it was adopted by the Great Celtic crowd before us...on a European night (a bit rare these days) you cannot beat the LFC version by a mile...Love Perry Como though...Justice for the 96..YNWA

  59. I.... M....

sorry bossanogi, You have to go to celtic park to hear the best rendition (after Perry Como) of this song ,we the fans at Celtic Park where singing this Perry Como version
at Parkhead at least 7 years before Gerry Marsdon recorded it ,by the way I have been to Anfield and there is no comparison sorry.

  60. p.... ....

I lost my son this year. He was 25. He went peacefully in his sleep. Perscription drugs. This song is a comfort to me at times when it's rough. I cannot imagine what those parents are going through. If it means anything I hope they know that we are thinking of them and praying for them to just try and hang in there. It is easy fo rme to say that but probably unbearable to live what they are living. May the lord find his way to you all and somehow make it easier.

  61. A.... R....

This song is fitting for the parents of the massacre in Newtown CT

  62. A.... R....

Larry I agree with you 100%

  63. F.... C....

You'll never walk alone, this what i can say to my countrymen in Mindanao Philippines devastated by a recent typhoon.

  64. m.... ....

The movie "Blast from the Past" brought me here ! :D

  65. T.... R....

I think this song reaches the most important and eternal part of any personality, of any one. This king of songs is above all music, cause it`s about each one of us. Poor, sick, angry, desperate, hungry, or reach, happy, healthy, satisfied. Cause all we love someone and want to follow someone. And sometimes we must walk on even through deaf, our deaf. To remain together forever. Because "love" is all we living for. That`s the only one reason of our existence. Amen

  66. K.... E....

Perry owns this one! None Better.

  67. B.... ....

Nobody sings this song like the 40,000 people that file into Anfield for each Liverpool football match. I hate to say it, as I am a rabid Manchester Utd fan, but they do it pretty damn good.

  68. d.... ....

Your experience illustrates how music has the power to transcend any language barrier...bridging that gap. Lovely story.

  69. s.... ....

Oh come off it- Gerry Marsdens is by far the best recording EVER- and I speak as a great fan of Perry Como

  70. C.... M....

Out of all the people who are considered to be the best I think Perry Como was one! :)

  71. t.... ....

For my Lorraine I'm with you always... I'm so in love with you xxoo

  72. F.... ....

The Voice! he's gone.but will always be remembered. Thank you, Mr. C.

  73. t.... ....

I bought this on an old extended play way back before it was murdered by Gerry Marsden.

  74. L.... M....

They don't make 'em like this anymore. Music that actually requires a voice, musicianship, phrasing and nuance. Today, all we get is that rap garbage with the filth, violence, and all that comes with it. A sad commentary on contemporary American "music".

  75. u.... ....

For my grandmother Rose Kane :)

  76. I.... M....

    comofan100
I'm a lifelong Perry Como fan, and this song brings back wonderful memorys of Celtic Football park where they used to play Perry singing it and all the supporters would sing along with Perry holding up our football scarves. unfortunatley they now play Gerry Marsdon singing it (he recorded it about six years after Perry's recording.

  77. S.... M....

There has, and never will be, anyone who can sing like he does!

  78. s.... ....

Perry Como was wonderful and is very moving

    s.... ....
