Como, Perry - Song Of Songs Lyrics

Do you recall that night in June when first we met?
Do you remember Love the words we spoke?
Have you forgotten all the tender vows we made
in the silent magical moonbeams light?

Gone are the golden dreams
with summer roses,
And all of our tender-est vows
were made but to be broken . . .

Song of songs,
Song of memory,
and broken melody of love and life
nevermore to me
can that melody
fill the heart
with the joy once it knew . . .

Oh night of bliss, night of June and love
beneath the stars amid the roses . . .
Oh dream of delight that faded at dawn
Oh song of songs,
Oh night of bliss,
When you were my whole world of love!

[instrumental break]

When you were my whole world of love . . .
Of love!

musica e parole che ci facevano sognare, che aprivano il nostro animo ad un amore romantico. Come si fa con il fracasso di tamburi e di metalli di oggi a provare le stesse esaltanti sensazioni?
Music and words that made us dream, that opened our heart to romantic feelings of love. How can the frantic noise of drums amd metals of to day make people have the same extraordinary sensasions and feelings?

Auld Neily was a regular in Glasgow's 'Star Bar'; he'd come up and sing this song, accompanied by us, the resident band - we always got singers up after our break, still do. Anyways, we were never that familiar with this song cos it was a wee-bit 'before our time'. Auld Neily was around 82 when he passed-on, a couple of years ago; a lovely old soul, he's sadly missed.
I found this song by accident, played it; I understand now what Auld Neily was relating back then. It reminds me of him. x
