Como, Perry - Silent Night Lyrics

is calm all is bright
'Round yon virgin Mother an' Child
Holy infant so tender an' mild
Sleep in heav'nly peace
Sleep in heav'nly peace

Silent night, holy night,
Shepherds quake at the sight.
Glories stream from heaven afar,
Heav'nly hosts sing Alleluia (Alleluia!)
Christ the Saviour is born;
Christ the Saviour is born.

Christ the Saviour...
is born (Alleluia!)

Silent night (silent night!) holy night (holy night!)
Son of God, love's pure light.
Radiant beams from Thy holy face,
With the dawn of redeeming grace,
Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth;
Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth.

    That song makes me cry for Jesus and what he did for US!

    No matter how much hell life throws at me Christmas songs always make me feel better.

    Wonderful!

    Beautiful rendition of this wonderful Christmas song. I love the third verse, the words touch me deeply. Merry Christmas to everyone!

    Perry's version is the only version that I've heard that features that verse. Bing Crosby never sang that verse in any of the versions he recorded--he actually recorded it four times. The first version was recorded for charity in February of 1935. He recorded his first version for commercial release in November of that year. The last two versions were recorded on June 8, 1942, and (my personal favorite of the four) on March 19, 1847. The 1947 version is featured on the classic "Merry Christmas"/"White Christmas" releases.

    I remember hearing this recording back in late 2008, when I was 14, and loved it right away. Thank you for uploading this! :)
