Como, Perry - A Dreamer's Holiday Lyrics

Climb aboard a butterfly and take off in the breeze,
Let your worries flutter by and do the things you please,
In the land where dollar bills are falling off the trees,
On a dreamer's hol-i-day.

Ev'ry day for breakfast, there's a dish of scrambled stars,
And for luncheon, you'll be munchin' rainbow candy bars;
You'll be livin' a-la-mode on Jupiter and Mars
On a dreamer's hol-i-day.

Make it a long vacation; time there is plenty of.
You need no res-er-va-tion -- just bring the one you love.

Help yourself to happiness and sprinkle it with mirth,
Close your eyes and concentrate and dream for all you're worth;
You will feel ter-rif-ic when you get back down to earth
From a dreamer's holiday.

Make it a long vacation; time there is plenty of.
You need no res-er-va-tion -- just bring the one you love.

[Repeat Final Verse]

From a dreamer's hol-i-day.

Como, Perry A Dreamer's Holiday Comments

    Such an Underrated song

    This reminds me of my dad and his friends when they got together in our apartment and had jam sessions in the 1950s. This song became imbedded in my mind. Surprisingly, even though it was a hit for Perry Como in 1949, I never could find it in Karaoke (as a Karaoke jockey). I was happy to recently find an instrumental version on YouTube and with downloaded lyrics I sing it when we have family gatherings. It is a trip down memory lane.

    My grandfather Sal died suddenly in June 2018. My grandma and I were going through one of his drawers. In it was a little booklet he filled out from when he was in high school in 1953. In it he wrote that this was his favorite song. Ive loved this song ever since. A few days after this my grandmother said a butterfly came to her window while she was crying. "hop on board a butterfly" I love you grandpa. We all miss you. See you in heaven.

    Anyone know where I can find a quality karaoke of this?

    S.... 2....

    I’m a Karaoke and Disc jockey with thousands of Karaoke songs and have not found it yet, anyplace. So I downloaded a YouTube instrumental version and printed out the lyrics from another site and sing the song reading from the sheet. No one has ever asked for it, even old-timers. My dad used to sing it when we were kids.

    @shunrodgers12345 I heard it constantly because I have an older sister who has the sheet music and has played the songs of this era many, many times. This was one of her favorites. Thanks for watching!
