It has that softer form of the BRICK HOUSE melody with a few added brake down changes along the flow and they were able to make it all work so perfectly from start to finish! Great creativity in this album. My uncle who was also a master musician producer said before he died this was actually the best Commodores album ever. It was underrated in respect to its overall notoriety.

Just saw them Sunday 6-11-17 and forgot how good this band was, even without Lionel R.. Their tunes were great and this album was loaded. Saw them originally at Pauley Pavilion with Lionel R. back around 1979. Love their music soooo much.

Commodores and Lionel Richie at their peak! Saw them live in Düsseldorf in 1979. Unforgettable. The Emotions were the starting act, also amazing!

Just think about this: ALL six of these guys sang on just about every cut, they played all of their own instruments(they were multi-instrumentalists), most if not all wrote the songs and they danced when they played live(with Walter Orange-drummer-being the exception. But sometimes he did get up when one of the guys from the Mean Machine took the stool for him) Only two other groups I can name off the top of my head could do this successfully, Cameo and Ohio Players. How many "personalities" today can do this??

not only did it for the showbiz , money but were so into it real genuine talent really cannot be compared to what we have today
