When I was in school,1980's. I was slated for liking Phil Collins and Genesis. Not fashionable or trendy, see.
Other kids were into Inxs or Guns n Roses. Carried more street cred. 35 years later I'm STILL listening in 2019, yes. I can afford to go to concerts too now I care not a jot about image. 'You know what I mean' is a good song.

It saddens me that I’ll never be able to see Phil Collins in concert. I’m only 23, but Phil and Genesis have done so much for me and have helped me grow and get through so many situations that I’ve faced in life. He’s hands down my favorite artist and genesis is my favorite band. So much passion and emotion. I would’ve never known about this song had I not read his memoir. Truly thankful for him as a human. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Phil would only do this song in one take from beginning to end. Other songs, like other artists, songs can be put together from different takes from different recording sessions. Phil never did this with this stunning song and it shows. From beginning to end it is one take - he just sings his heart out. What a song, what a man.
