Collin Raye - On The Verge Lyrics
Well they shouldn't have played that good
I got carried away and let the music go to my head
Well she shouldn't have worn that dress
The way it curled around when she was spinning
Just killed me dead
My heart began to tell my body and my soul
That it had gotten in the mood to lose control
[Chorus]
Oh no, when did neon light turn into moonglow
When did that jukebox turn to a rainbow
I'm about to give into this urge
One more slow dance with her arms around me
One more long glance and nothing will slow me down
I got no chance, if I'm not in love I'm on the verge
All I wanted to be was cool
It ain't my style to overheat, much less burn
But as we floated across the floor
All at once I flashed right past the point, of no return
And when we said goodnight the sun was on the rise
And any stars that hadn't set had fallen in my eyes
[Chorus]

An I am on the verge of falling in love
One of the great lyricists. Special song by him.
Keith Urban is playing guitar on this.
Hard to beat a beautiful song with a great melody and sung by an amazing voice like Collins. One of the best voices to grace Nashville! They don't write record songs like this anymore. Thank goodness for Sirius /XM and Youtube!
I loved this guy back in the nineties. He had a lot of good stuff!!
Another great song from a very under rated singer wake up,world
Great song (not live though)
One of my favorite two steps......yep danced it from Denver to Reno......and Santa Fe to Las Vegas. I’d sing it all the way through.....ha!
I was 19 years old and little did I know that the person I was dancing with would become my husband.. ❤️
I completely agree with you!
Love this happy song!!
I don't know if the change in country has been a deliberate move on the part of the music industry or if it is the natural progression of music. People my age grew up on traditional country AND classic rock. Kinda makes sense that these two would blend. Many people 30 and younger listened to a lot of 90's country, hip hop, rap, and grunge rock. So country music today is NOT the traditional stuff. Quite frankly, neither are we listeners.
Still love this song.
back then I could dance to this all night long
My wife always said if you can't dance to it ain't country. Am I'm not talking about line dancing, hate that stuff. nowadays no way to dance to it.
Yep, this song brings back memories from that time. I'm good where Iam now but, I would love to step back in time just for a day. Wonder if Doc Brown would give me a lift in his time machine???
love him
Cuando yo empecé a escuchar Country:)!!!!...adoro ese ritmo!!! what the heart wants!!
Collin...you changed my life with that song....I love you man
My GMA and GPA 41st anniversary is today on Halloween. Crazy right. Love you pappaw.
"Just kill me dead"?
Oh. I didn't know there was some sort of live killing that can be done. lol
Great song. Brings back some memories.

I remember watching this video on GAC back in 1997, when this song was a hit. Still one of my favorites today! Brings back great memories from that time in my life. :)
I love my wife, but I really did some business on the dance floor to this song back in the day....
Mike ever hang out at Desperado Memphis?
Ol Sammy Wray drumming his ass off in the video!
Awesome song by an awesome singer. Too bad country now a days is no longer country.
just love his songs
Always been a classic hard rock fan, but Collin Raye has just about the best voice a man could have. Have had the great pleasure of seeing him live a couple times, and he puts on a great show, does a nice cover of the Stones' Brown Sugar. Even a silly song like this one sounds great with him singing it.
Love this song!
Ah the memories :) Such a lovey sweet perfect song! Thanks so much for the video, just love it :D
I loved this Collin Raye song back in the day!
ME too.I still do.
Welcome back Collin.
I heard you are coming back for a Show on April28th.are you kidding me?
Happy. Feels happy. I love it.
Such a cheerful, sweet, romantic song.
Country music was at it's best in the 90's! Today's country music just doesn't cut it. It's so sad to!
+wickedout2010 Just saw Collin Raye in concert last night and he was saying the same thing about how today's country songs all have the same theme about "partying down a dirt road". He put on quite a show for not having his full band with him.
Sorry, Give me the 60s & 70s
But we do you love Collin
60's & 70's were awesome. Country sucks now a days. Isn't that great as it use to be.
it remind me of someone
This song brings back so many memories.
One of my all time favorites growing up, and still is today. Such a shame real artist like Collin have faded away and no talent wannabes rule the country stations now.
The exact reason I quit listening to country music. I couldn't agree with you more.
Hey he still tours around the US at small venues! I saw him about a month ago in upstate New York :)
Me too! I was 12 when this song came out and I still love it!
Damn straight. I absolutely love Collin Raye's voice!
KNOCKIN' ON HEAVEN;S.............DOOR
Impossible not to feel better after hearing this song :)
Great memories of this video, great song Collin!
Been there and done that..... Thanks for the memories in a song :-)
ACC's #26 song of '97. God bless ya, brother Collin! Thanx, VEVO, for postin' it.
