Collier, Jacob - Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic Lyrics

And though I've tried before to tell her
Of the feelings I have for her in my heart
Every time that I come near her
I just lose my nerve, as I've done from the start

Every little thing she does is magic
Everything she do just turn me on
Even though my life before was tragic
Now you know my love for her goes on
On and on and on and on and on and on

Now do I have to tell the story
Of a thousand rainy days since we first met?
It's a big enough umbrella
But it's always me that ends up getting wet

Every little thing she does is magic
Everything she do just turn me on
Even though my life before was tragic
Now you know my love for her goes
Every little thing she does is magic
Everything she do just turn me on
Even though my life before was tragic
Now you know my love for her goes on
On and on and on

I resolved to call her up a thousand times a day
And ask her if she'll marry me in some old fashioned way
But my silent fears have gripped me
Long before I reach the phone
Long before, my tongue has tripped me
Must I always be alone?

Every little thing she does is magic
Everything she do just turn me on
Even though my life before was tragic
Now you know my love for her goes on
Every little thing she does is magic
Everything she do just turn me on
Even though my life before was tragic
Now you know my love for her goes on

Every little thing, every little thing, every little thing
Eee oh oh, eee oh oh, eee oh oh, eee oh oh
Eee oh oh, eee oh oh, eee oh oh, eee oh oh
Eee oh oh, eee oh oh (Ooh), eee oh oh, eee oh oh
Every little thing she does, every little thing she does
Eee oh oh, eee oh oh, eee oh oh, eee oh oh
Every little thing she does is magic, magic, magic, magic, magic
Eee oh oh, eee oh oh, eee oh oh, eee oh oh
Eee oh oh, eee oh oh, eee oh oh oh oh oh

I have personally always found that remakes are annoying and unneeded in general but because I love you and you're extraordinary sound I am thrilled to have you sing this song in your own interpretation. Thank you for blassing my ears with this.

  13. just me being bored

You know, personally I’m not even a big fan of the type of music Jacob makes but there’s something about it that makes it a real listening experience even tho you don’t like it. Maybe it’s the feeling that the guy behind this really is a genius.. I really don’t know but what he does is really impressive

  14. eric bush

after listening to Jacob everything else pales in comparison

Guys! I've heard "The Police" has made a pretty cool cover of this!!

  26. bogdan gradinariu

The whole song is awesome and fun to listen to, but the real magic happens at 4:08 🤯

  27. Eden That’sit

I wish I had discovered you 2 months ago instead of just 5 days ago, I would have definitely gone to see you perform live. Now I just have to wait for volume 2 of Djesse to come out.

  31. Julian Mint

Ahhhhh! Jin is Feng. Feng is Qi. Jin is New. Feng is Wind. Wind is Air.

  32. Julian Mint

But i think if we put metal in this, that will be understood that we will continue destroying the soil? So, u have a new way of seeing the world!

  33. Julian Mint

That’s so beautiful Jacob. U done great!! I love your new photo cover, and the elements. But hmmm, what could u miss? Jin - Metal (u know the charcoals, metal kind of). In China, they have 5 elements.

  34. MrDC

2:18 who else can hear :"will you marry me" in the background

honestly, i could be sassy and say "well obviously, it's in the foreground"
but honestly uh... no, i didn't notice that until you said it. just goes to show the density of Colliers music c:

  35. Su Rehrl

    ...this is true magic <3

  36. CanningPetto

    69k views lol

  37. wystemd

Did Sting hear this? I think he would be pleased!

  38. Truman Andreason

I love Sting and Jacob Collier... how neat is this? It's alright, more of a fan of the original

  39. Lynduh47

    You’re incredible!!!

  40. Ay Bee

Wonder what Sting thinks of this version?

  41. TheToothGoose

Please someone tell me what that flute/toy sound is at 1:05

    Samir Petrocelli

Is a small flute like wind instrument called "Piccolo"

  42. Bryce Rosenwald

Obviously JC is remarkably talented and I enjoy a lot of his music but, to be honest, this arrangement doesn't do much for me. I feel that it doesn't add much to the original song beyond the lush orchestration, and the intro and outro. I wish there was more variation in tempo, rhythm, chord progression, form, etc., something to really make me see the song in a new way, which is what we usually get from JC. This cover is nice to listen to and beautifully performed of course, I just wish it were more imaginative.

  43. Honeyplum

I'm 52 seconds in and my heart can;t handle any more

  44. Kelsey Gloria

  45. Kerry

I'm so sorry the change at 1.04 doesn't sound right to me, and every one like it the rest of the song. Does anyone else agree? I don't like to criticise Jacob Collier as I adore this album and he is a musical genius.

    Harry Miller Music

All I'm hearing is utter perfection.

  46. Silas42

    Sophie Collier

  47. Tom Volk

    brilliant as always!

  48. Eduardo Puccini

4:07 I need to have this progression

  49. Mouldy Soul

I think I understand jazz now; it's just lots of notes at the same time. The more the better the jazz and/or the jazzier. So I would assume this is pretty high on the jazzy jazz scale?

    Valentin Wogg

    this is not really jazz

  50. reintjes

2:12 I resolve to cholera, a thousand times a day
Made me chuckle... but seriously, great work!

I can't unhear that now lol

    Richard Bonde

  51. Septina Hutabalian

i love you so much Jacob😍😍😍😍😍😍😍

  52. Hannah Ghanem

    This is sick!!! So cool

  53. drania76

Has this lad been to the Jools Holland yet? How come he hasn’t?

  54. corponaarte

Jacob, you're brilliant, but I think you're trying to paint with too many colors. You don't need to show everything you've learned in every single song. Finding the essence of what matters isn't easy, of course. But I hope you'll eventually be able to do it. Love from Brazil.

  55. Mao Silva

Jacob - you are, undoubtedly, a genius and everything you do is masterpiece... but the best rendition ever of this song still belongs to Kyle Eastwood - - 🙃🙌🏻

  56. Paolo Garritano

i haven t found any special intuition in this track that wasn' t already implicit in the original

  57. Garrosh Wittmer

  58. Yolanda Groeneveld

I so love what you did with this song!!

  59. Anteros _

    I have no words.

    Truman Andreason

    obviously you do

  60. Sheldon Stewart

You can't substitute all of the groove for creativity. You lose too much. Kinda boring be honest people.

    Carlos Andrés

    I concur

  61. Pratyashi Kito

    This is incredible.

  62. dbtf h duevnkihr

    Awesome 😍🎧

  63. Espen Uldal

This is paramount fantastic ... Love those small odes to the late Jaco Pastorius that crawls in ... The perfect follow up to Collier is "Liberty City" with Pastorius ... from "Word of Mouth".

  64. Boram Song

  65. Soorya Praveen

    What's happening at 2:54?

  66. Cameron Klassen

Does anyone know how many volumes of Djesse there is gonna be?

Cameron Klassen 4, each one has the same songs, but with different arrangements

    Nathan Einhorn

Nope, it won't be the same songs. It's 4 different albums

  67. Sebastian Indra

it will be more fun if you duet with Sting! it will be epic

  68. Kimberly Harrington

Jacob Collier and a Disney movie score is a combination made in the heavens.

    Noe Berengena

Please leave Disney out of this. Disney is the killer of true creativity. I know because I have personally seen the way they operate. Their movies are highly formulaic. Jacob is NOT.

@Noe Berengena to be fair, this song does sound like a Disney score. I was looking through the comments searching for just that.

    Noe Berengena

@goatneck Well, I don't want to take anything away from you. My work is in architecture, graphic design and public art. Long ago I realized that the artist (or producer) is not the product. (Sometimes the things we really like are made by people we can hardly stand. That's the grown up world. LOL)

Jacob should score a disney movie, get em started young

  69. Dag Reinbott

Der absolute Wahnsinn. Alleine die Harmonien in der 2. Strophe (1:26) - einfach so so gut! Sowohl kompositorisch als auch mixtechnisch - Oberknaller...

  70. Rudolph Dan

    My fav song

  71. Gordon Chan

    2:35 "go"
I am not sure if this is a reference

  72. RayrayTheCraycray

Am I the only one having to constantly replay this part from 2:10 just because his voice is just too sweet...??😍

  73. Cyril Panshine

    Simly. Beatiful.

  74. Rafael Pernil

0:17 Welcome to Windows XP from Microsoft (Windows XP Tour)

  76. MinesweeperinoKripperino

This helped me study for 10 hours straight today, bless u jacob gonna get that A+ now

  77. Sam D

So creamy Disney~ I love it! HAHA!

  78. Harry Miller Music

  79. Frederico Carvalho

this musical arrangement is absolutely brilliant. I heard 3x and I'm speechless.
    Congratulations on another amazing job.

    Kimberly Harrington

I will never get over the brilliance that is Jacob Collier. He has changed me and touched my heart in many ways. His music reflects the heavens. Your comment took the words out of my mouth.

  80. Hermel J.

Wonderful arangment, and Jacob voice sounds so close to Sting! Well done!

  81. AtomicMosquito

Hey Jack! The Police and Stewart Copeland, was the reason why I became a drummer, 30 years ago now. You managed to touch the past and bring it into the future. Jack Collier, thanks for the surprise :)

  82. James Cook

Imagine Pat Metheny Group. Now imagine condensing all of that talent into one person.

    Frank Coklay

    This statement is so accurate.

Wowwwww. Bruhhh. I grew UP on PAT!!! First Circle, Falcon Snowman, Off Ramp, etc etc etc. GREAT POINT!!!

    Sai Leshanth

Oof that would definitely be magic

  83. Joseph M

Jacob, everything you do is magic

  84. efryo / MusicOfPlus

I always wanted my finals week to be magical

  85. Ze Meira

It should be illegal to put ads in the middle of this album!!!

  86. Rafael Borges

Is just me or this song sounds like a safari?

    Samir Petrocelli

Timpani, trumpets, harps, the rythm and melody. Your're totally right.

  88. Hidde van de Rhee

    everything Jacob does is magic

  89. Peasant's Rondo

Though not as harmonically or rhythmically complex as some of his other reimaginings, this one is _orchestrationally_ complex.

And damn, if that orchestration isn't good.

It makes sense. The harmony and rhythm are _so_ well done in the original; if he wanted to bring something new to the mix, he had to expand the sonic palate into a wider, more comprehensive interpretation. The result is fucking *stunning*.
This man is a genius and a gift to mankind in the most trying of times.

    Kimberly Harrington

God bless him. What a gift to humanity indeed

When you have true talent you don't need to continually flex.

Maybe because the original is already so rhythmically and harmonically rich. Sting no slouch

You are so, so right, all of you. The arrangement is especially radiant between 2:30 and 3:50. It's 1:30am and I can't stop playing it.

  90. Ricardo Daniel Zapata Carreón

Is it wrong if I molest myself with this arrangement?

  91. Shaughn Chan

this honestly could feel right at home in a modern broadway musical

  92. SYA史斯宇

Every re-imagine Jacob Collier does is magic

  93. Jonathan

Oh my Lord I think that one's my favourite from Vol. 1 so far 😍😍

  94. guscaldas3

A warmer version of Mehldau's voicings at the end....:)

  95. franckdebank

Nice but sometimes less is more

  96. BassAri

Lovely, especially the Thomas Newman-vibey piano/orchestral parts!

  97. 1rythm1

    Yessir Jacob!
