This is one of my favorite CS songs. There is something about these guys - just about every song they ever put on an album I liked. Very catchy, and deep metaphoric lyrics I always loved.

im 23 years old and collective soul is one of my favorite bands by far. they have big hearts and actually express themselves through their instruments and voices. this is real music. not this new age bullshit.

Back when this CD came out, I met a girl, no ordinary girl, but one I'd adore forever, she gave me this CD, I listened to it everyday....those were the days...the girl is gone, but still in my heart and mind everyday..it's good to find music again that reminds you of great times in our lives...Pretty Penny will always be a part of my life

I heard they were pushed by the record company to rush this album out as essentially a bunch of demos to take advantage of the success of "shine", and as a result, they didn't have the time to produce/polish/mix the sound properly like they did the next album. Still, amazing songs like these prove that great songs > bad production.
