Colin James - Into The Mystic Lyrics
We were born before the wind
Also younger than the sun
Ere the bonnie boat was one
As we sailed into the mystic
Smell the sea and feel the sky
Let your soul and spirit fly
As we sailed into the mystic
And when that foghorn blows
I will be coming home
And when that foghorn blows
I wanna hear it
I don't wanna fear it
And it's just like the days of old
And together we will flow
As we sailed into the mystic
Come on
Come on
And when that foghorn blows
I will be coming home
And when at foghorn blows
I wanna hear it
I don't wanna fear it
And I wanna rock your gypsy soul
And it's just like way back in the days of old
And together we will flow
As we sailed into the mystic
Come on
Come on
Come on
Well, it's too late to stop now
It's too late to stop now

Colin James Into The Mystic Comments
you are so right Lamporre Colin does this much better
Such a beautiful song 💖
Not many ..can do cover tunes justice....But Colin James is the exception.....just groove n here ...thank you Colin
I have listened to this song I swear a million times!!!! By far my go to forever
No - just no.
No way is this anywhere near Van's. All this guy does is sing it. Where's the soul?
I prefer original, but he does get down near the end, good to know the kids hear it
why do people critique the hell out of everything? lol
backing track is nice, the singer not so much
Beautiful Colin! Lovely to hear the lyrics.
So do I +Lamporre
2018 😍🎶
This is great.
The second-best version ever..... C'mon people.... A little respect for THE Van Morrison.
Colin James gives this song justice
He seems to of captured the soul of the song....too bad his original music didn't....
CJ slayin it again

Great medicine to listen to!,awsome stuff!
❤️ Nothing better than Van Morrison but this guy did an amazing cover.
Brasil 2018
Beautiful version. People on here seem to think it is an either/or. It's not. Van Morrison did a beautiful job with his creation. The question is not which one is better. The question is did Colin do justice to Van's work? I believe he did.
just enjoy it.
hands down one of my favourite songs...love Colin James
Deciding who did the better version between Van and Colin is like trying to figure who did the better version of "Darllin" ...Frankie Miller or Johnny Reid
Nice version.
Growing up I always fell asleep to the foghorn... in certain months.... it always made me feel safe.... so awful when technology changed that.
He does a great version but say its better than the guy that wrote it...
Great version but Van still owns Into the Mystic.
watching nature gives you glimpses of GOD
look for nature you might find God
Look for nature you might find God
feel the sea+ smell the sky = see the fog . Its lunar equation ! lol The big Gaia is taunting your intellect with lyrics of feelings . I am, therefore I sea!
I drove through a snow cloud this winter it was amazing ! How did I know it was snow cloud and not fog it was thicker and at the top of summit and it had just snowed ( mystic snow cloud ) lol God reminds me nature is everywhere!
Love this version so much!!!! Better than V.M.:).
I WANDERED AROUND THE WEST COAST ! When it rains I can smell the upper atmosphere, Ozone .There's a Gaia up there! lol
Love this song SO much but I still love Van Morrison's rendition of it...much more gritty. This is just to smooth for me, without all those earthy undertones.
I love this tune no matter who does it. Next Chris Staplton needs to cover it :)
Saw him perform this live. So amazing.
Great version!
It's a great take on GREAT song written by Van M. So yeah, it was, it is and it always will be Van's song
nice cover, but the original bass line makes all the difference in my opinion.
Manuel Fonseca it's a requirement!
Impossible to say one is better than the other (Colin vs. Van). They are both versions of an amazing and timeless song. Thank God for great music in these crazy times..
Joe Cocker does an amazing cover of this song. Full of passion.
Not bad but very generic sounding and kind of bland, I can't hear much emotion in this guy's voice at all.
This my jam!
Heard this on "Bones" and have saved it...beautiful...Grew up on shore of Lake Erie and 'member the fog horn.
Lol. I literally listened to this song earlier.
Me too ❤️🎼🎼🎼
my heart started to beat for minute.
From best to worst , imo - Van Morrison, Joe Cocker, Allman Brothers and then Colin
Does this remind anyone else of Black Crows 'She talks to angels'?
I literally think it's that song coming on, when this comes on.
Kind of...and you re right
I sometimes play this, when I'm down at the beach. It's the best song for there. <3
beauty.
Amazing
american pie 3
No words needed...
see you in March at the Jube!!!!!!cannot wait to hear songs from the new blues album!!!
James took ownership of this song the way Jimi Hendrix took
ownership of Bob Dylan's All Along the Watchtower.
I must say I like Colin James' version a LOT.
A great Whiter Shade of Pale version of a Black Irish song.
This is brilliant chapeau beautifull.
cannot wait to see Colin in march!!!!!!!
Solid, but comes nowhere close to Van for me.
not true. saw colin many times. as good as any r&b guy.... he is best when he performs live
Agreed. To each their own, but this version doesn't strike me in the depths of my soul like VM does.
I agree with Hank, Colin James is at his best when performing live; he pours all of himself into his music. I've seen him live a few times as he lives near me and performs locally quite frequently, and he is fantastic live.
Haha you can't say someone's opinion isn't true. Opinions aren't true or false.
Paul Carracks version is the one if you want to hear real control.
This takes me right to the pier. :)
Van Morrison all the way for this song
So who cares? this is an amazing version.
I like both of them.
I agree
I agree who cares. Both versions are awesome
i love this song.
a great tune for a laid back summer day in vancouver .cheers...ken
Only better version that this, is the live version by Colin.
Yeah, right..better than Van the Man! Passable for a bowling alley lounge.
Do you play? I bet not so STFU
This is really awful. Why would I listen to this over Van?
oh, maybe because it's an excellent variation on the original. Listen with an open mind...you never know, it just might expand your musicality, just a tad. Just sayin...you asked!
Awful? OMG! Did you listen??
If you don't like this version, don't listen to it! Wow what a fucking concept!
Nobody asked you to and nobody gives a shit what you think except maybe your mommy.
awesome version of this song
Omg. I've been wanting to find this song for so long! O.O
Cocker's version is better than this. This guy has no soul. Van leaves him in the dust.
+Richard Long did you just say Colin James has no Soul ??? what are you smoke pal ?
Primo Hydro. But I'm not going to argue. You have your tastes, I have mine, Hey, that works. No need for music rage.
No need for such a closed mind . If someone else is to take on the mantle , I'd prefer this to a JUSTINE Bleeber side. Eh ?
i love it
fantastic version, amazing guitar takes me to another place.
Im a Van fan but James really hits this one.Awesome version.
Yeah but who wrote the fucker???
+BluzCatKeef Mo van morrison
+BluzCatKeef Mo Van the Man dude
That was an awesome rendition of that song Colin James, Thank you, just rocked my gypsy soul💜
WELL, Any Protective Angel Can Hear That You Feel It & And Sounds Like Sacredly Surrounding Love To Be, Love Nirvana's " Rhiannan, luanne,Beatle", ( currently straight out of her Denial...) Do Love Tour Heart Within Your Voice !
Got jipsie sole?
+Paul Abbott Wandering sprit aka a Gypsy sole
So many have covered Van's amazing songs, yet few/none do the songs justice. Mr. James seems to have nailed it. An amazing cover! A great Saskatchewan boy does us proud!
Heath Kondro is he from sask.
Drex Cote ye, from Regina
I totally like this version the best by Collin James
It still is Van Morrison's song. It will be forever his song. Like Paul Williams said, he wrote it. Now, what he is saying is Colin James' cover of the song...he likes better. I kinda fingered he meant to say that.
Well Done, seen Colin James a few times, always a great show.
WELL DONE seen Van Morrison a few times, always a great show.
What do you mean it used to be Van Morrisons song?.. HE WROTE IT
Paul William and can the man wrote many more great tunes.that is why so many re record them
Thanks, i was ready to bitch slap somebody
I also love CJ's version. It moves me more personally than VM's. No amount of "thinking" can change that, it's all in the feels, baby.
@ThePowergoats same here....love his version...
Me too.Love C James!!!!
Love it ♡
Great Video, Amazing song, ty.
great stuff
Muito linda essa música amei

Hardcore not to like It
On par with the original, Van Morrison.
Surprisingly good! Never heard it.
great cover. one of my favs. thank you for the post great song colin. very nice job on this....peace
Nice voice & guitar playing but no soul as in Van Morrison / Joe Cocker etc
From a 71yo Aussie fan of SOUL / R & B.
Great f***ing song
