Cole, Nat King - Red Sails In The Sunset Lyrics

{Red sails in the sunset, way out on the sea}
Oh, carry my loved one home safely to me
{She sailed at the dawning, all day I've been blue}
Red sails in the sunset, I'm trusting in you

Swift wings you must borrow
Make straight for the shore
We marry tomorrow
And she goes sailing no more

{Red sails in the sunset, way out on the sea}
Oh, carry my loved one home safely to me

Swift wings you must borrow
Make straight for the shore
We marry tomorrow
And she goes sailing no more

{Red sails in the sunset}
Way out on the sea (ooh-wee-ooh, wee-ooh)
Oh, carry my loved one
{Home safely to me}

[bracketed words are sung by Nat in unison with background singers]
[words in parentheses are sung by background singers only]

    Preciosa canción que me trae tantos recuerdos y es tan agradable de escuchar. "Velas rojas al atardecer" una bella canción de alguien cuya amada o amado se va en una nave con velas rojas y que observa como se va desde el muelle del puerto.

    The sun is setting very soon now and I went to look for a song to dedicate to the ending of this beautiful day on Earth. I typed in Nat King Cole and was brought here 💞

    This was written by Jimmy Kennedy as he sat on a summerseat opposite my old school - Dominican Convent, Portstewart, County Derry - watching a ship pass by on the horizon. I sat on that seat many times, unfortunately i didn't have his words, or inspiration.

    I had bought the vinyl at the record store. Nat was the greatest that ever lived. I loved this version and fell in love with this. This version is the original 12 inch. However, a 10 inch version was released prior to this format. I forgot which songs were omitted from that. This is the album that also includes Unforgettable.
