To be fair, Groban does do a phenomenal job with O Holy Night. The differences in style though, are too great to compare them. I don't usually care for the opera-y feel, but I won't deny Groban is very good. Nat King Cole, on the other hand, goes straight to the heart and makes you all warm and fuzzy inside. You smile inside and out with his soothing voice and he makes you want to have some cocoa with all your family and friends in front of a fire. It's also easier to sing along.
Nobody today records Christmas music as serene and soothing as this. The best version of Away in a Manger I've ever heard. Nat must be ranked as one of the top 5 greatest Christmas artists of all time.
