Coldplay - Kaleidoscope Lyrics
This being human is a guest house
Every morning a new arrival
A joy, a depression, a meanness
Some momentary awareness comes
Welcome and entertain them all!
Be grateful for whoever comes
Because each has been sent as a guide

The American poet, Coleman Barks' own translation of the original 13th-century poem by the Sufi mystic, "Rumi" and the clearance that Coldplay got from the U.S. Government to include the 44th President of the United States (Barack Obama) snippet* of him singing "Amazing Grace" at the funeral of the Rev. I believe we who love Coldplay, admire them because we are the ones who know, recognize and appreciate REAL talent.
Coldplay are CREATORS, something the musical world (and era in general) lacks profound and catastrophic amounts of nowadays. For the first time in human evolution, the human race has already relapsed and no signs on the horizon remain of progression of the human-being species or pioneers in the near future. Elon Musk is looked at so special because he is doing what all the eras prior always wanted and tried - daring to explore the unknown, daring to be great and daring to improve and change mankind for the better by daring to stand out from others and be an original. We all just want to fit in nowadays and are scared to stand out, hurt other people's feelings or go against the grain while at the same time thinking being materialistically (financially) rich is the definition of true wealth. We focus on materialistic technology and improving it very slightly and are satisfied with the materialistic results that seem to hypnotize us into zombies along with thinking we are superior to those before us while we are all wrapped up in cotton wool and comfort our soft, fragile and brittle selves with the words we secretly want to hear, so we don't have to struggle or stress in the race against time (our remaining time on Earth). We live in an era where the so-called 'talent' turns up and does what they are told and then goes home, sits back and reaps the rewards of something they never even imagined or created, and thrives in being admired and worshipped at like worldly 'Gods' and creators by the un-woke.
Coldplay will always touch your soul and guide you through tough times, thats the way of Coldplay

Boring as hell
This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.
A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
as an unexpected visitor.
Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they’re a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still, treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out
for some new delight.
The dark thought, the shame, the malice,
meet them at the door laughing,
and invite them in.
Be grateful for whoever comes,
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.
- Jalaluddin Rumi

A very meaningful and beautiful poem by Rumi, which is also very meaningful for Chris Martin suffering from his depression he had to deal with after his divorce from Gwyneth.
Glad they took this song in their (quite joyful) album which I think is the most powerful record, despite not being radio compatible.
Every one of us has to deal with bad things and not everything might work out well, but still we have to embrace it all and live on.
The outro couldn‘t be much more fitting, an improvised performance by Obama himself singing for the victims of the Charleston church massacre.
Martin stated: “[...] he could have gone very revengeful and aggressive, he chose to do that, which was a powerful statement. That’s a good way of looking at life. Gracefully going through whatever you are going through.“ Which goes perfectly together with Rumi‘s “The Guest House“.
stark contrast from the marvelous piano of khatia buniatishvili (first 20 seconds!? that is it?!?!?! ) to the boring back and fourth we all have come to expect from martin's clubs on the keyboard! track seems produced like we are supposed to think that he played those first notes! pffffffft!
I cried.

It's OBAMA
I think people are in need of saving locked underground! Like some may have been done over already... My female conscious has gone a long time ago!
It's very beautiful, big Rumi, big Coldplay
Coldplay, you are the best! ♥
I love you coldplay!
The first time I heard this on the album, I was very confused. But it's very calming, and very fascinating
Emma Rounsville I had the same feeling, maybe because the song is short and it’s divided in two parts
Whatever still an awesome song ❤❤
Why are there only 3 comments?
