Oh my Lord when I saw this on twitter during that week Harvey hit is.. idk I told myself I didn’t want to cry when the storm hit but this made me break down completely. It broke my heart so much knowing that my city, my home, my life... was just completed yet underwater. Even now I know several of us have heavy PTSD every time it rains let alone when it storms like late last week. But knowing that other people outside of our little Texas corner cared so much just gave us all a lot of hope. So God bless you all that helped contribute to Harvey relief and even for the gentle prayers. For the hero’s that risked their lives in high waters to save other families in their already flooded homes and to those who lost their lives in doing so. Please send prayers to those still affected (yes, there is still A LOT of people without homes) and to other cities undergoing hurricane relief. Stay Houston Strong.

I was there at that concert. I remember traveling from the Florida keys to Miami to see this concert. Then soon after hurricane Irma hit us, during that i remembered this song. A hurricane can destroy our stuff and tear apart our lives, but it also brings together people. People from around the country sent us supplies and traveled here to help us out. It’s was amazing to see total strangers help people out as though they were lifetime friends. I can only assume it was the same for the people of Houston. My prayers are sent over there because even though the hurricanes are long gone the damage was severe and it will take a while for everything to go back to the way it was. I love Coldplay and I remember that concert and how amazing it really was.

One off song. Sung to Houston in Miami about eagerness to go back to Houston. A month later renigs on promise to reschedule show canceled because of approaching storm. Says they'll be back someday.
As a Houstonian, advise you to not bother. And never sing that song again. And do not renig on statement that you would not. The words mean nothing now. But so happy Miami got entertained before Irma hit.

I heard this on NPR when packing up in case we had to evacuate before the rain stopped. When I heard "Houston got to keep on keepin' on" I sat on my kitchen floor and bawled. Thank you for thinking of my beautiful city.

I can't wait to hear Coldplay sing this song in HOUSTON! I was so bummed that Harvey made them cancel.

I'm from Aransas Pass, which is just about 10 minute drive from Rockport (where it made landfall), 30 minutes away from Corpus Christi, and about 3-4 hour drive from Houston. My whole little town lost almost everything, and a bunch of my family and friends lost everything too. I was lucky to still have a standing house but it was still heartbreaking to see the devastation surrounding my own house. It's been a rough few weeks but as soon as I heard this song, I sobbed from tears of joy to see my favorite band send love to Texas. And my small community has been enlightened by others helping others and people volunteering and donating to help. Even through this time of hardship, I feel the love. I see the love and the kindness that is spreading. I have never been so proud to be from Texas than I am now. #TexasStrong ❤🇺🇸
