Not gonna lie, when the lyrics, "All hurt in time gets better" came up, I burst into tears.

One of my favorites from this album.. Just saw them 2 days ago for the 15th time, met them for the 5th time. To say I am obsessed w/Co&Ca would be an understatement... This isn't just music to me, it's part of my soul, & has gotten me through many deaths, relationship problems, depression, etc.. I will never be able to thank them enough for the gift of them.

I've loved them for 16 years. When I first bought In Keeping Secrets i kept it in my car's (single) CD player for an entire year. It's still my favorite album of all time.

Claudio captures the concept of darkness in humans so accurately, and expresses it so beautifully in words, melody, and guitar riffs/chords. All enhanced by trav, josh and coop’s own arrangements.

How can anyone say anything bad about this album. Pure genius.

I thought this was a Nine Inch Nails song for a minute. Two of my favorite bands ever.

I’m a huge Coheed fan but goddamn this album just does not do it for me. The Dark Sentencer, Black Sunday, and this are probably my favorites right now. Most of the others songs either start off strong and nose dive, take a wrong turn, or their just all around, too uppidy or boring. Like Old Flames is practically a mainstream pop song. I’m especially sad considering I bought the boxset. I thought The Dark Sentencer was going to be a good indication of what was to come on the album but I guess not.

I also bought the box set and was disappointed at first. ONly liking 3 songs but, after a second listen my opion changed. Give it another listen and see how you feel. Coheed songs have a weird power to grow on you.

I initially was worried of the same feeling but the songs began to grow on me. You are correct about old flames though. It's one of the only songs by them I think is TOO poppy. Remember this though, this is PART ONE OF FIVE. The next I wouldn't be shocked to see next year sometime and with this intro and the huge plans for the story I'd say hold on it's gonna get fucking nasty epic. Vaxis isn't even born yet lol.

There's something off about this album. I haven't felt this way since year of the black rainbow. I can't put my finger on exactly what's wrong with it, but the songwriting seems kind of lazy, particularly in the vocals.

@DominusPaul I am with you. Again as a first chapter it may not be as good as the next 4. It's tough when you're trying to please diehard fans but you also have new fans from TCBTS and you have all these different sounds you want to demonstrate. It does feel a little scatter brained and cheesy in nature, akin to the phantom menace lol, but the best parts are yet to come.

This is my favorite song off the album by far.

I love how simple yet huge and progressive this track is. This is one of those "lead me into the final battle" songs, like a pre fight talk with mr. Miagi to get your mind right...
Musically speaking though, what really does it for me about this track is that thick, bellowing Bass chord (Zach is a legend) that climbs up and dances into such a bad ass barrage of vocal lines and drums.

Coheed is so special to me because they manage to stay so in the pocket. They drive a groove to the center of the Earth, while 4 world class musicians blow our minds with innovative use and mastery of their intruments, and somehow they come together to paint it all into the most beautifully synergistic Painting for your ears. It tells a story, but it can tell yours too,

I conclude, unexpectedly, that this bands music is pretty much analagous to LSD.

Same here. To me, this song has a dark, sinister, ‘hopelessness’ sort of undertone to it that was an instant attention grabber for me.
The lyrics, the beat, the deep, heavy, foreboding guitar rifts and the eerie vocal track all pair together to deliver a truly haunting yet beautiful masterpiece that I just can’t get enough of.
