Coheed And Cambria - Peace To The Mountain Lyrics

I learned to keep quiet,
How to keep my distance.
Afraid to let strangers in,
How to keep my secrets.

Did I ever have,
An idea of what this should have been?
An unhappy accident,
Longing for an origin.

So let me go where no-one can follow,
Lost with my conscience, please bury me honest.
The song drones, I drink myself hollow,
Regrets grow regardless, please bury me honest.

I promise I'll go in peace,
No.
I promise I'll go in peace,
When I'm free.

Rejected to the brink,
Only so much I can change, an artist I wish I could have made.
Am I irrelevant?
Or will I get a chance to change, change the colours permanent.

So let me go where no-one can follow,
Lost with my conscience, please bury me honest.
The song drones, I drink myself hollow,
Regrets grow regardless, please, please baby bury me.

I promise I'll go in peace,
No.
I promise I'll go in peace,
When I'm free.

Peace to the mountain, girl I'm gonna go go.
Peace to the mountain, girl I'm gonna go go.
Peace to the mountain, girl I'm gonna go go.
Peace to the mountain, girl I'm gonna go go.

So let me go, where no-one can follow,
Lost with my conscience, please bury me honest.
The song drones, I drink myself hollow,
Regrets grow regardless, please bury me honest.

I promise I'll go in peace,
No.
I promise I'll go in peace,
When I'm free.

Peace to the mountain, girl I'm gonna go go.
Peace to the mountain, girl I'm gonna go go.
Peace to the mountain, girl I'm gonna go go.
Peace to the mountain, girl I'm gonna go go.

This song got me through my dads passing away

  5. V.... ....

    You are an artist, dipshit...

  6. J.... K....

I can't believe just because I was going through something so personal and emotionally painful back when this album came out, that it drove me to associate coheed with those dark evil feelings. I just listened to this song for the first time in nearly over 3 years and all those memories came flooding back. But it also made me remember how much this album helped me get through. I used to get such a bittersweet feeling once this song neared it's end... I still do. It makes me remember everything from that period of my life... crazy shit. Love coheed but im disappointed in myself that I've let myself drift away from coheed just to try and avoid the negative feelings that I was feeling from a breakup and from senior year when the album came out.

  7. A.... A....

I wanted to die. This song delayed that three years ago. I lived to fall in love with the story of Nostrand, Nia, and Otto. That is the power of this band.

  8. J.... S....

I've been listening to Coheed since they were Shabutie. I don't know if I'm just getting older or what, but their newer stuff is straight crap. Ascension/Descension and Unheavenly Creatures were good, but YOTBR and this album are just garbagio. Pre-YOTBR was the best music I've ever heard...ever. Not now.

  9. s.... ....

Coheed deserve more credit than they get...amazing band

  10. T.... L....

    Story of my life rn

  11. T.... ....

This song fits me better than any other I've ever heard.

  12. T.... R....

The guys in coheed are about my age, and their music has grown with me.
I know if we sat down and had a beer it would probably be a ... "yup" and that's that.

  13. j.... 8....

just saw them in Chicago for the first time. i will never forgot the greatness i witnessed

  14. R.... S....

que buenas canciones tiene este álbum :"3 que excelente banda :"3

  15. S.... L....

This song gets me every time.. So beautiful.

  16. T.... R....

Thank you for this song. I have friends that have passed and I have friends that don't get it. I still cry. It's ok though. I won't cry that much. Except to this song.

  17. A.... S....

    😍😍

  18. R.... M....

A beautiful angel just introduced me to this song...she is as whimsical a d enchnanting as this song ❤❤❤😘😘😍😍😍

  19. E.... A....

Easily the best song from this album.

    My top 5 from TCBTS
    1. Peace To The Mountain
    2. Fangs of the Fox
    3. Colors
    4. Ghost
    5. Island

    Cause I'm gonna go go!

    E.... A....

xDr.DeathDefyingx I think there's a chronic lack of "The Audience" in there! :P

    E.... A....

Honestly, I found the audience to be my least favorite song from this album lol. Although it had one of my favorite parts. "This is the story of a boy who lost his way and found the" and then the beat drops. I love that part, but that's really it lol.

  20. B.... L....

    Awesome...coheed rocks!

  21. a.... C....

at the end of a rocking album what a track to calm down to.

  22. S.... W....

Love the song, pretty symbolic and got meaning. Didn't make me cry, just sang it full at their Glasgow gig drunk af

  23. M.... A....

Coheed you were amazing st London O2, almost didn't see you and I'm so glad I did in time for this song and welcome home 💖

    M.... A....

im jelouse of you..they are my favorite band and i have never managed to catch them...hope you enjoyed it :) x

  24. v.... ....

can't go wrong with any coheed song .. so good as always. Love you Claudio Travis Josh and Zach θ°θ

  25. T.... A....

This song helped me get through a very shitty end of 2015 which led into 2016.The phrase "peace to the mountain" is symbolic to me. To me it's saying peace to an emotional mountain I had to climb to get where I am now. I couldn't have done it without Coheed.

    T.... A....

I am facing my mountain right now and I was thinking the very same thing. Thanks for sharing

    T.... A....

Same, love this song, love Co&Ca.

    T.... A....

I'm currently using this song to start my climb up that mountain... it's one of the only things keeping me going right now.

    T.... A....

Last song I listened to with my Mother before she passed at home in Hospice from Pancreatic Cancer. Much Love !!! <3

    T.... A....

My Dad Passed in 17 this song makes me think of him

  26. T.... R....

This song is what convinced me that this album was intended to be a part of the concept and Claudio changed his mind halfway through recording. He has essentially said that this was so in interviews. This album was intended to be the aftermath of what happened in No World For Tomorrow, and the story didn't coalesce, sort of like a denouement
. I love this album, but I can still see traces of the mythology in it.

  27. J.... G....

this song gives me goosebumps and makes me dance no matter where I am

  28. N.... ....

I listen to this album on my record player cranked up to 11. Such a beautiful piece of work. Brings me to tears.

  29. R.... D....

a perfect song for reflection and it is a great song for running on the treadmill to

  30. A.... F....

    This song is beautiful.

  31. .... ....

    I'm still drinking.

    .... ....

    I'm still hollow.

  32. I.... C....

And here I am listening to this song as the year closes. I couldn't think of a more fitting one.

  33. E.... ....

I shared this song with my x fiance. A year ago this month I proposed to her. This song resonates with me in such a deep level. A lot of Coheed's songs have carried me on their shoulders. Four months later I'm listening to this song burying the hatchet and moving on.

  34. S.... ....

perfect song. My mother doesn't have too much time left and wanted this song played. Thank you.

  35. I.... M....

    This song is incredibly beautiful!

  36. M.... T....

    This album is stupid good.

  37. M.... G....

I feel like tarzan in this song...

  38. G.... ....

This is the song that did not exist back in 1998, but it's the one that seems like it should have been playing in my head when I found out that my Canadian girlfriend that I met though the internet was really a guy named Larry! I thought it over too, yet I was okay with Larry being a guy, because a girl named Larry would be strange. Larry lived in Florida though, so I almost did not sleep with him, but one thing let to another, and me and Larry fell in love. Happy story too, he did not care that I was 12 at all, in fact he said he was hoping I would have been that young! But he went to prison, though he is getting out in the middle of December, and we are going to get hitched! This song, this is THE song that will play at our wedding!!!

    G.... ....

    +Christopher Nedoroscik  clever

    G.... ....

Not really, it's almost time for him to get out. Would you like an invitation?

    G.... ....

+Galloe Threetails Larry is out now! But this can no longer be our Wedding song! Now he wants it to be "Friday" or something with Justin Bieber. I told him I can't do that, but he said to just bring a cut out of Beebs with strategically placed holes. I'm so excited!

    G.... ....

+Lady Bug The demon what the actual fuck nuggets

    G.... ....

The actual what nuggets? If you're on about my love Larry, well we almost got married, but he is back in prison now. Now that I'm a grown ass man, he ditched me for a 12 year old. Wait until James finds out that Larry does not really have any fucking candy. So help me god if he really did have candy for James I'm going to punch Larry in the dick!

  39. O.... R....

I can't get enough of this song omgg!!!

  40. z.... h....

if you don't like it, let people who do enjoy it and discuss it.

I love this and everything they do

  41. A.... J....

    So let me go
    Where no one can follow
    Lost with my conscience
Please bury me honest ( my mantra now) thnx love the song

  42. S.... S....

It's been so long since I related to a song so well. This conclusion to the album completely and utterly broke me as a man. This encompasses everything I've felt since my rough youth from high school up to my life as an adult now. All of my emotions captured in a beautifully composed song.....sorry....I'm just so emotionally destroyed right now after listening to this on my morning commute :'(

"So let me go where no-one can follow,
Lost with my conscience, please bury me honest.
The song drones, I drink myself hollow,
Regrets grow regardless, please bury me honest.

I promise I'll go in peace,
    No.
I promise I'll go in peace,
    When I'm free."

    S.... S....

@William Moore Exactly. "The Island" too, because I wish I could leave New York. I've been here my entire life, and I hate it here, lol. You're right....all the songs Claudio put together are extremely easy to relate to.

    S.... S....

@Sir Scribe When it all boils down, there are 2 reasons why people change: burning desire, or in so much 'pain' that they can't take it anymore. If you really don't like where you are in New York, find a way to leverage those 2 things, and you will be able to make the change you want!
I actually work for a company that offers some awesome trainings about this and how to get what you really want when making these kinds of changes. I'd be happy to answer some questions for you. :)

    S.... S....

@Todd Wright i change for the lulz heu heu

    S.... S....

And a year, after your comment I really do hope you're doing better. Feel exactly the same. I love this song and Island cause that's what I feel in my life. Anyways, Happy Holidays I shall drink in your name, your loved ones, to Coheed and Cambria, to everyone who isn't an a**hole. Cheers!

    S.... S....

@Blade2xtremeFTW thanks bro. Happy Holidays to you and yours as well. Thanks for the well wishes.

  43. m.... ....

seen them live on sunday! Amazing, made my vacation.

  44. M.... K....

    Oh snap! ok Coheed! :)

  45. A.... C....

I will never get tired of this album it's perfection! I love how it comes back to "Island" with the subtle 'Get off the Island'. Makes it feel like this album is a journey as you listen.

  46. m.... ....

This song holds the most meaning as it reflects the the current point in my life I am currently faced with. I moved to Indiana from El Paso at 18 to stay with my dad and I am getting ready to turn 30. The Franklin Mountains are a key landmark in El Paso and for a while now I've felt that I didn't want to return because I felt I had nothing to return to. Things haven't quite worked out for me here as I haven't done anything with myself and my sister wants me to come back home. She has a cyst on her thyroid and she worries it could be cancerous. Also the girl I want to marry is out there and I told her I'd return someday and I haven't spoken to her in a while because I didn't want her waiting for nothing. I wanted her to live her life. Last time we spoke I kinda got upset because she seemed despondent. So this is a song very dear to me. I feel like it might be a sign to make peace with the mountain and return home. If I do end up marrying her 2 is my favorite 1 will be our wedding song. And if not I wish her the best.Thank you for everything you do Claudio. I will forever be a child of the fence. Our fearless leader, over and out.

    m.... ....

+momentsmeanmore Sometimes life throws you weird signs, bud. Go where your heart takes you, might as well live life to the fullest. I'm sure your family would agree :)

    m.... ....

bruh go back. this is the sign telling you to go back.

    m.... ....

    Did you go back

  47. R.... H....

    This album sucks dick

  48. A.... M....

How can someone possibly dislike Coheed's songs like every album every song is just simply amazing.....My fav.Band 💕💕

  49. A.... L....

Coheed's one album that isn't a concept and I relate to almost every song 0_0

  51. E.... ....

    so fucking majestic

  52. C.... L....

just noticed coheed and cambria already made an playlist for this album... I ltrly spent like 50 minutes making my own

    C.... L....

+Da Beast ...It took you 50 minutes to make a playlist of songs that are already posted by the band? Did you start then forget for 47 minutes then start again?

    C.... L....

@TriMageRyan lol no, i didn't know those "audio only" songs were there untill like 10 mins and it took like 15 minutes to find out how to make a playlist, yes im a noob

  53. T.... ....

I love this entire album. It has a little different sound, but most of it is still so Coheed.

  54. C.... M....

Can't. Stop. Listening. I'm so in love with this song!

  55. H.... B....

If Coheed never made another song again and this is what they ended with, well this would be just perfect for that

  56. J.... P....

coheed just can't make a bad album no matter how hard they try

    J.... P....

I don't think they try to make bad albums

    J.... P....

rainbow is easily in my top 3 favorite albums everyone has their own tastes in music. i personally feel afterman ascension is by far their weakest.

    J.... P....

YOTBR was my least favourite when it came out but I find myself drawn to it now and put it up there just behind there first four albums and perhaps even before NoWorldforTomorrow

    J.... P....

Warren Lopes I have to politely disagree, any album with Domino The Destitute isn't a bad album :P I also love tracks like Vic The Butcher and Goodight Fair Lady, but I get not everyone is a fan of those styles.

    J.... P....

*black rainbow has entered the chat*

  57. E.... L....

oh shit yes! thank you coheed & cambria!

  58. M.... 3....

Gah how can they write an amazing song like this and the rest of the album be so...eh.

    M.... 3....

    +Mattybot 3000 Best for last?

    M.... 3....

This is a ballad, I feel like if every song was in this style it would take away from the album and impact this has as the last song.

  59. M.... J....

Loving this song more so than the others on this album. Still a good album none the less.

  60. S.... I....

it reached to the very core of my soul. love this!

  61. S.... ....

This album is full of "mehs". Every song I have heard feels like he's writing for some Disney Channel, happy fun time club. It tries real hard to be awesome in some parts, but then leaves you with blue balls. Maybe their new direction will be writing soundtracks for Pixar movies.

    S.... ....

+AkiTheRedWolf All these metal kids are the worst fans.

    S.... ....

I pictured hearing these songs in wal mart or on a Kmart commercial myself...

    S.... ....

+Shrieqer and that's exactly what I have been saying since yotbr which wasn't a bad album but still lacked Claudio's essence...

    S.... ....

+Shrieqer Sure it would be cool for them to release another song like The End Complete III and maybe they will. You never know with coheed. Either way this isn't the right album for a song like that

    S.... ....

You know he fucking wrote this album because he was going to have a baby, right? You must be some brand new type of idiot evolution.

  62. c.... ....

man, if this isn't the folkiest song Coheed's ever released then I don't what is.

  63. B.... ....

    Favorite song on the album

  64. L.... ....

Almost all the songs on this album gets to strike the right chord in me.
    Thanks Coheed & Cambria.

  65. P.... G....

This MUST be the next single!

    P.... G....

    +lpwarrior3 Atlas will be.

  66. g.... ....

I think this might be Coheeds best album.

    g.... ....

@Cuminder Sheprd Thanks mate. You're a really understanding and nice person. Very refreshing to meet someone like yourself on the internet

    g.... ....

Isn't it funny how Claudio really tried to reveal how much he looked like a troll in "Kill Audio"? Well this whole album is every trolls dream...

    g.... ....

    ...how?

    g.... ....

    +DaxAndy
Honestly, I think _The Second Stage Turbine Blade_ is kind of overrated... and I don't like using the word "overrated" that much. It's a great album, but it's probably by far their most "emo-ish", which I'm not a huge fan of. I'd rank my favorite song off the album—"Delirium Trigger"—at #20 if I had a huge list of my favorite songs by the band.

If you ask me, their best albums are both of the _Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV_ albums (but *especially* the first volume), _In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3_, and both _The Afterman_ albums (it's a *very* close call, but I'd prefer _The Afterman: Ascension_ just by a bit).

    g.... ....

For me it's their weakest album due to the shift from prog rock to alternative, but it's still fantastic. No World For Tomorrow is probably my personal favorite.

  67. w.... ....

This is a great song. Almost sounds kinda country/western...especially the "peace to the mountain girl i'm gonna go" chant

  68. J.... ....

thanks for yet again kicking my ass Coheed.

  69. f.... ....

    holy shit fuck yes

  70. J.... ....

    You guys are so perfect.

  71. S.... M....

I am in love with this song! I plan on having it on repeat for a while! ❤️

  72. T.... S....

    So fucking thankful awesome job

  73. P.... T....

I was hoping for an awesome acoustic ending track on this album...boom

    P.... T....

+Patrick Teaches the World I feel like Ghost is more epic Acoustic but this is 2nd. Still pales to Light & Glass or Pearl of my Stars

    P.... T....

    @Kyizen
The majority of “The Light & the Glass” is electric—only the first quarter of it is acoustic.

    P.... T....

+Burning Star V But those first couple minutes :,' (

    P.... T....

    @Kyah Faria
Yeah, sure, the first few minutes are beautiful, but the climax is still far superior in my opinion.

    P.... T....

LoL you got what you wanted DARK SENTENCER!

  74. P.... T....

    I'm pumped!

  75. k.... ....

This song feels a bit different to me, but I like it.

  76. Z.... ....

My favorite song from the album and quickly becoming one of my all time favorite coheed tracks

  77. T.... ....

I hate to admit this, but this is the song - the one that is the song that encompassed half my life.

Hell, I might just have this played at the end my funeral.

    T.... ....

    +TheShadowscythe
Why would you hate to admit it?

    T.... ....

Dont be ashamed, man. Was planning to play this at the end of my funeral also. :)

    T.... ....

TheShadowscythe I'm doing the same thing. If make a wish foundation is real and C&C are alive, I'll ask that they play it at my funeral live for my family and friends.

    T.... ....

I feel you. Life is heavy when you see beyond the lines and miss what's in front of you, and the distant sight creates chaos. Between the anxiety and depression the bottle has been the savior and the burden.

  78. B.... J....

Thanks guys, Sounds great as always!
