Coheed And Cambria - Night-Time Walkers Lyrics

Night-time walker, keep your distance
Stay away from us, stay where you are
History repeats her story, awakened by the sounds of long before

I don't wanna see you, I don't wanna believe you're here
But it's too hard not to when your songs I hear
And all the sweet repeats that make her so beautiful

Maybe it's alright and the world's not quite
What you believed is now all upside down
Maybe it's alright and the world's not quite
What you believed is now all upside down
Upside down, upside down, upside down, upside down

A shattered silence into spinning
The panic as you learn, there was nothing here worth living
Hidden from this, an end, middle, beginning
Imprisoned to watch a play where strangers stare, forgiving
I believe that you and I have slowly made it to our final goodbye
And when they ask, we'll stray to omit
Only truly knowing that this us was how we want it

Maybe it's alright and the world's not quite
What you believed, it's now all upside down
Go on, here in the sound I drowned, our nerves broke down
What you believed is now all upside down

She is sailing safely inside my head while we lay in comforts of our own bed
It'll be alright, it'll be alright
Here, playing dead
She's sailing safely inside my head while we lay in the comforts of our own bed
It will be alright, we'll be alright
Here, playing dead

She's sailing safely inside my head while we lay in the comforts of our own bed
It'll be alright, we'll alright
Here, playing dead
She's sailing safely inside my head while we lay in the comforts of our own bed
It'll be alright, we'll be alright
Here, playing dead

Maybe its alright to turn it upside down and start things over
Maybe its my time to turn it upside down and start things over

  1. A.... 3....

    Maybe it’s my night
    To turn it upside down
    And start things over
    Maybe it’s my night
    To turn it upside down
    And start things over
    ❤️💜💙💚💛

    A.... 3....

Artandsoul 38 THATS what I hear... I’ve seen so many sites that say maybe it’s my time.

  2. A.... N....

remembered seeing claudia sanchez at the fillmore in silver spring maryland, sold out and years ago on i think the website was mp3 actually i don't remember the website had fun remembered in my high school years the album in keeping secrets of the silent earth 3 becoming popular

  3. F.... ....

    Maybe it's alriiiiiiioight

  4. d.... ....

I'm thinking to myself, this track couldn't get any better than this but then Coheed and Cambria hit us with that 3:39 part.... Instant Classic.

  5. X.... D....

I heard Night Time Walker was a racist term for whites

  6. I.... ....

This album as a whole is some of their best work period. As there are many classics on this album this may very well may be the best on the album. Subject to change lol

  7. D.... W....

I need these songs to hit 1 million views

  8. A.... A....

1:46 to 2:12 it gave me some good chills and was absolutely amazing

  9. D.... M....

I actually didn't enjoy this song for the first few listens. The difference between the techno verses and the soaring chorus felt jarring and poorly constructed. But the smooth interlude kept me coming back. but after hearing those individual components of the song blended towards the end I now appreciate and enjoy the oscillation of feelings before they are blended together.

    D.... M....

Listen to the demo version of this song. It is far better imo. And now one of my favorites.

  10. E.... R....

    Fuckin love it

  11. K.... C....

Man this song is so beautiful. What a calming horror feeling lol

  12. G.... ....

This is the only song on the album that just kinda.. I dunno. The beginning of the song builds up so much musical tension that doesn't pay off with the chorus. The chorus feels out of place with the rest of the song. EVERY part of it is amazing.. except that. Don't know why. It's been rubbing me the wrong way for weeks now. >_<

    G.... ....

Yeah, I didn't like the chorus. I recommend a listen to the demo version of the song.

Can anyone clue me up, I absolutely love Coheed and Cambria and heard that their good Apollo album was part of a storyline (never got into it and it seemed complex so if anyone fancies summarizing it for me, please do :D )
Is this still part of that storyline? Or does anyone know who/what this song is about?

    M.... G....

The overall story (The Amory Wars) is way too much to explain in a YouTube comment. To answer your other question, yes this is still part of the collective story. However it's believed to take place after the story told that ends after the Good Apollo 2 album with a new set of characters. This album is part 1 of 5 of a new story involving Vaxis, the child of the two main characters of this album (Creature and Sister Spider).

    M.... G....

Greg Larson you’re a star! Thanks so much - It saves some confusion. I’ll try and piece the story together.

    M.... G....

@Mel Gray Vaxis 1 story from the deluxe edition can be found here in pdf format https://www.reddit.com/r/TheFence/comments/9ouuoy/i_made_a_pdf_out_of_the_scans_of_the_vaxis_1_book/

    M.... G....

The original story consisted of the story of Claudio Kiligannon discovering who (what) his parents were, how they destroyed the planet, harnessing his abilities, falling in love, then fighting with the creator of the story Ryder, who is completely psychotic. This album is the storyline in the same universe but of new characters. It's a love story told by Vaxis, the son of the two lovers on the cover. Sister Spider is shot in the head during a crime (bank robbery?) by their teammate. She thinks her lover shot her, Creature didn't shoot her. She's pregnant with Vaxis when this all goes down. Creature doesn't know how she got shot, but then finds out when they end up going to prison (The Dark Sentencer) and discovering that not only is she NOT dead, but she has become incredibly powerful and given birth (Queen of the Dark) and now they have to make up, escape, and save Vaxis from dying on The Dark Sentencer because the planet is destroyed and burning up because of what happened in The Armory Wars (that bit about Claudio fighting the creator did some major damage)

  14. A.... C....

The vocal part around 1:40 really reminds me of a part of the song “Sheep” by Pink Floyd.

    A.... C....

Abso-fucking-lutely! Well, "Dogs" for me. But still. Thought the exact same thing the first time I heard it.

  15. B.... Q....

This song makes me want to wear my sisters clothes and make up and have a party

  16. S.... N....

For anybody who isn't fans of Coheed and Cambria. They are missing out. Missing out on an amazing life, always having these songs guiding me through all the good and bad. Not to mention the community. If you're a fan of Coheed and Cambria, you are my brother, my sister, we are a family. I can't wait to see you all on the fence.

  17. A.... G....

    Stranger things...

  18. T.... B....

I love coheed but ... I can't help but feel the same music in everything m which is okay but ... Meh

  19. T.... S....

    love this one

  20. K.... G....

    Intro.

"Sending out an SOS. Sending out and SOS."
    - Sting

  21. W.... W....

This album has something for everyone. I know there's some resentment about that with some hardcores, but Claudio's vocals have NEVER been this filthy-friggin-sick, cover to cover. There's no chance in hell we'll ever see him sing this live, but fuck it. If you don't get chills from these vocals, yer dead inside.

  22. K.... K....

Guess who cried on the bus when he heard "She's sailing safely inside my head"? Yup. Me.

    K.... K....

That part is so fucking sad.

    K.... K....

And the acoustic and electronic togethet is so amazing

  23. G.... M....

    Love the ending.

  24. M.... ....

Imprisoned to watch a play where strangers stare, forgiving
I believe that you and I have slowly made it to our final goodbye
And when they ask, we'll stray to omit
Only truly knowing that this us was how we want it

    M.... ....

    that vocoded part tho

    M.... ....

    Amazing.

  25. p.... ....

Am i overreacting or dreaming, is this album turning out to be their finest work so far?

    p.... ....

They produced themselves and had a story to tell. It's their masterpiece.

    p.... ....

It is absolutely their best so far. I forsee that they will surprise us with an even greater album in this story

  26. L.... F....

this one sounds so odd and awesome at the same time, my absolute favourite from this album

  27. B.... P....

    Don’t forget, 😎it’s a three part album.

    B.... P....

    Oh shit fr?????

    B.... P....

    5 part sir Pentalogy

    B.... P....

The moment when what you thought was awesome gets even more awesome.

  28. e.... ....

Reminds me a ton of the Bee Gee's cover of She's Leaving Home from the Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club movie.. synth singing and all

  29. C.... ....

    "80's horror feel"

Perfect. That's exactly what I get in the beginning. Then that bass comes in thumping along with the bass drum like a steady heartbeat. I can't help but think of Mic Todd locking in with Josh back in the day.
Those odd shuffle beats Josh throws in just make the verse seem to be towering and lurching. Such a great platform for the big chorus to be built upon. The chorus is jubilant and sort of bittersweet.

    Then comes 1:30
At first, I didn't really know if I liked it. Then I gave the song more listens and it has become a part I look forward to. Great vocal effect, with some strong rhythm layed down like bricks. From now on, this what I'm going to refer to this phenomenon as: "Josh pushing masonry on his set along with the bassline"
    Spectacular!
1:45 I really feel like they're throwing that shit down! Best rhythm.

    And then damn... 2:40
I love, LOVE a good Coheed lullaby moment.
    Think about it-
The "Don't let them scare you" part in Devil In Jersey City.
The "Stay until Wednesday..." part in Everything Evil.
The "Dear Mariah..." part in God Send Conspirator.
    The Light And The Glass.
The "Casting quarters into wells that hold our dreams" part in Crossing The Frame.
I could go on and on, but the point is- if you're a Coheed fan and you're not singing along with at least a smirk to these iconic 'lullaby' parts, something is wrong.

My only complaint is minor. I wish they would have let that guitar/synth line in the lullaby part come back in at the end of the song to fade out into the dark sounding stuff before The Gutter- like they did between Three Evils and The Crowing on In Keeping Secrets.

    C.... ....

    You forgot Gravity's Union
    "How they stole our looooove"

    C.... ....

I fucking love 1:30 because it reminds me of one of my all time favorite songs, "Dogs" by Pink Floyd.

    C.... ....

@Tyler Sampson It's such a Pink Floyd feel.

    C.... ....

The demo version of the lullaby part sounds even more like something from SSTB. Great.

  30. D.... K....

2:50 "She's sailing safely inside my head.." I can't be the only one who thinks this is the one of the best and most emotional parts of the whole album. I'm not even ashamed to say I almost tear up every time I hear it.

    D.... K....

You're not alone, I was driving when I heard this part and the end and it made me choke up. It's just so fucking good.

    D.... K....

    More like 2:55 😏

    D.... K....

Yea definitely one of many but definitely a good one

    D.... K....

I teared up listening to this part on the drive home today and I've only done that for one other Coheed song ever and can't recall any other song that's gotten to me like that.

    D.... K....

    You're playing dead...

  31. T.... ....

I can hear the influence of Nostalgia for the 80s, probably amplified up from Stranger Things, I love it.

    T.... ....

TeaRzOfTheFalleN funny tidbit. the song "elm street loverboy" written by Claudio for his side project, sums parts of that show up quite well.
