Do people seem to forget the "demo" tag with this song? Or do they forget songs like Domino, Holly Wood, Vic the Butcher, Sentry, Gravity's Union, Atlas, or the Audience? Those songs are all bangers. Coheed's always had poppy songs. Blood Red Summer, Once Upon Your Dead Body, The Suffering, or Feathers ring a bell?

It's fine for you to not like this song (which IS a demo btw, which probably meant it was considered not good enough for the album by the band themselves), or even TCBTS, but to say that its nothing like how they used to be is dumb. They've always had poppy songs, and they still have heavy songs.

I've been a fan since SSTB, grew up on Coheed thanks to my older brother. The reason Coheed is so amazing is because they can actually evolve. This is a new style that sounds amazing, and I dig it. Loved every album, and loved how they were bold enough to step out of the Amory Wars shell. Respect to you guys

Sorry about all the "older fans" who can't accept the fact that Coheed isn't a band that pumps out the same type of music in every album until it gets old, but actually switches things up to keep it interesting.

I love that Coheed has done something a little different every album, and while they've had stronger outings than others, they've never disappointed me. They're music has always been exciting in some way: from the raw energy of their early work, to the epic quality of their mid-to-late 2000s offerings, to the almost experimental and poppy sounds of their most recent releases, they've always been the interesting and different band that inspired me to write my own music. But I'm having a really hard time connecting with this song. With such a diverse and vast body of work from which to choose, this song just feels bland. It sounds like something that would be played over an Apple commercial. It's unfair of me to hold such high standards, but Coheed has proven time and again that they're capable of writing music that's AMZING, not just listenable.

There is no shame in mediocrity.

I don't care what the other fans are bitching about, I hope for more music that isn't based on Cladio's sometimes underwhelming and rather generic sci-fi series. Stuff like Ghost and Here to Mars are probably some of my favorite Coheed tracks now.

DawnAuthor I JUST read the comment above and started looking to see if anyone said anything about it being misspelled as "armory"..so thank you for that.
However, I have not read ANY of the Amory Wars. (I think shortly before Good Apollo came out I flipped through a little comic book of sorts that wasTSSTB...that's when I learned Devil in Jersey City was about a gang rape...but that's as far as my Coheed literature knowledge goes)
I can enjoy Coheed's music just fine without it, I know that because I have been enjoying their music for about 10 years now. What pisses me off more than anything when someone is talking about music, is when they tell other people they aren't "real" fans. It's ok to like one song, or one record. If someone likes a piece of Coheed's art, then they fucking like it. Get off your high-horse dude. Be glad people are coming together for something like this in a time where people come together and burn down their own towns in the name of social progress.
I have been guilty in the past of talking the way you are. Then my musical ear matured. Nowadays, I am just happy to see someone enthusiastic about any kind of real music. We are lucky that these people you speak of are coming into Coheed now and exploring new things that aren't electronically- driven, Auto-Tuned bullshit.
