I bloody love this song.

I wish it didn't go back to the chorus at the end. It goes through such a Willing Well style progression.

"All is lost", "Come Slither you Snake" "When you want it, it waits" etc. That entire section after the 2nd chorus is the Coheed I love. When Claudio breaks those triplets. Man that is Coheed.

Cuz the YotBR songs are absolute bangers live so I'm more convinced the negative feelings people have for it is just that weird production.

This album is an epic master piece

For anybody who isn't fans of Coheed and Cambria. They are missing out. Missing out on an amazing life, always having these songs guiding me through all the good and bad. Not to mention the community. If you're a fan of Coheed and Cambria, you are my brother, my sister, we are a family. I can't wait to see you all on the fence.

This album is kind of depressing. Everything I've heard so far is just dark and epic. I used to listen to no world for tomorrow every day, and I think it had a good blend of upbeat and dark songs. I'm still glad to hear rock songs from a rock band though. I dont expect to like everything they create

I cannot overstate how much I love this album. Coheed is back to full Coheed.

The third verse of this song is honestly my favorite Coheed verse ever. Claudio makes me want to end my god damn life.

That "please bring water" hits me so fucking hard.

To add a little to that. The Color Before the SUn was quite a new direction for COheed musically. Great album too, very listenable, very enjoyable. This song, hearing it after getting used to that album, is clearly a development from whatever style Coheed introduced in tCBtS. Great song, moving the COheed music forward.

That doesn't excuse badly written and cringy lyrics. And some of the music instrumentally is pretty cringe too. You Got Spirit, Kid is probably one of the worst songs i've ever heard, let alone the worst Coheed song.

Yeah it's just not cringy because I understand it, at least that's how I view it. Good music man. Give is a second listen, whole album through.

I've listened to that album dozens of time lol. The fact isn't that it's cringy because you can't understand it, it's cringy because lyrically it's written too simplistic and straight foward. It's actually too easy to understand to the point of sounding rushed rather then refined. The vocal melodies don't work as well as they could because the lyrics don't work.

@Barry Fitzgerald I think the bridge in this song is referencing the riff in The Final Cut. I think that is what the band was trying to reference.

@Good Apollo you're not wrong. I think the aspect that really makes the song is the way the break about midway through the song adds some contrast to what's been played before that point, and then when it builds into the following chorus it just adds an entirely new dimension to the way it sounds

@J Wal We're referring to different riffs. The riff I'm referring to is one of the opening riff sets in the entrance to the standard lyrical stanza. It's almost lifted right off The Crowing. I hear the riff you're talking about and I totally get what you're saying. It may be a direct reference, but the trick with the riff that you're talking about is that it's basically a blues scale progression just like The Final Cut, which I think was an homage to Pink Floyd in that song (as was the name of the track). You find those all over the place in rock, though, so this could just be a blues scale with no allusion, but it could be a callback, too, so I'll buy into the theory given that there could be thematic emotional reference there from The Writing Writer.

I disagree. The energy is much less intense lol. This is more breezy where as GU and crowing are tornados.

This album is such a big disappointment for me. If you enjoy it, that's fine, but for me it just feels tired and stale.

For a band that wrote the actual masterpiece that is GA1. We can never expect too much. Coheed set the bar so unbelievably high with that album. It's improbable that they could ever be THAT inspired through whatever means nessecary to make something like that again.

This album is a 6/10. The amount of filler on this album is crazy. There are just so many skipable and forgettable tracks.

For its got one sure fire classic in The Gutter, which is for me is incredible. This song even has flashes of Willing Well section building, but it just reverts back to the same formula to end.

When this first dropped I convinced myself I was placing it in front of the Aftetmans behind the big four for best Coheed album. Best thing since NWFT I told myself. What a lie. This thing is only slightly better than Black Rainbow.

Come on Claudio. We need the Willing Well V - VIII. Please?

Ehh... I have to disagree. I'm totally digging it. Huge Coheed fan, so Idk. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion of coarse. I'm just not getting the "stale" vibe from any of the songs on this album.
