Cocteau Twins - Oil Of Angels Lyrics

First, he's inched her latch down
Anxious, her hand begs, and now my distraction
Distraction
I will learn, To focus on
Oh, you hoo hoo..., Cause you won't

Recognize it, stablize it
Things take-take me
To exception look for respect
Respect
Down- down there
You're not a nice track footfall
Round
Will we still hold, rain
Things we couldn't do
Strive, for me to leave
Rights of her, Rights
Treasure her, treasure
Her freshness
First
He's inched her latch down
Anxious
Oh, her hand begs
And my distraction
Distraction
I will learn to, I will learn
Focus on you, to focus on
You hoo hoo...
Cause you won't

Recognize it, recognize
Stablize it, stablize it
He even finds a way
Supreme, man improves
Lkie what might see
Her life for everyone
Will it still hold
Rain
Things we couldn't do
Strive
For me to give
Rights of her
Rights
Treasure her
Treasure
Her freshness
I will learn
To focus on you
You hoo hoo...
Cause you won't

This is another level of music...

  11. Reformed Stoic

This music touches and heals my soul. I kind of wish they had a real drummer sometimes (being a drummer myself) but they program great drum parts none the less. Absolutely angelic.

    Devoye

is it really programming? I thought they just had 2 drummers???

  12. Peter Collinson

Her voice is so beautiful it's actually kind of ridiculous. I run out of superlatives.

    dread true

Peter Collinson, lolol, now you make me laugh. Good comment.

Enchanting! Liz's voice just blows me away. Awesome!

  21. SERGIO DE LA REPTILIA

This is truly beautiful music, heaven in all its essence! Like all great art forms, none can evoke emotion as frequently and intensely! Schopenhauer was right about that!

The Milk N Kisses Tour in the US was in 1996. I went to see them at a club called "DV8" here in Seattle in summer 96. Liz was simply divine in every way. She even met with some of us fans after the show for a minute. She's seems shy, but really isn't in some ways. I just know she's a brave person. She's been through a lot and always brought something different to each performance. I also saw her at the Paramount in 1990 or 91 for the Heaven or Las Vegas tour. That was magical too, but I preferred the more intimate small club DV8. It felt as though you were in a music studio with Cocteau Twins just playing away. I miss DV8. It's gone now. I feel so old sometimes. I was so young when I went to those two concerts. I'm nearly 40 now. I am just happy to have those memories and to have met the band... even if for just a brief moment. I miss them dearly. I know their will never be a band exactly like them, but their are some bands that you can tell are greatly influenced by Cocteau Twins.

    SanFranciscoJames

THEY ARE ALL STILL BREATHING SOMEWHERE ON THIS PLANET......

    Slowdiver

💖💖💖💖💖 so cool! Just think how LUCKY you are you got to see them! I got into them right after Milk n Kisses. It would be the ultimate dream to see them. One can always hope there will be a reunion one day, when and if they are ready. And if not, I just feel blessed to have their music in my life! :)

"She's seems shy, but really isn't in some ways. I just know she's a brave person. She's been through a lot and always brought something different to each performance." what do you mean?

    Raymond E. Venegas II

For Calendar Cafe is my favorite album. I'm listening to it right now. Every time I get really sad and feel hopeless, I listen to this album. The is just something about it that gets me in the heart every time.

  31. John Meowzer

Love the shimmery guitarz too. I remember at the time, the 'normal'-sounding guitar in this song wuz somewhat stunning, ha...not used to that sound in Cocteaux' songz! In this context, it workz jus' fine.

  32. John Meowzer

Robbo'z guazy guitar in the middle iz like a nice warm cosy blanket hahaha

  33. John Meowzer

Well, I think there'z a few somewhat duff trax on 'Four-Calendar Cafe' but this one'z pretty good...it captures the intimacy of 'Victorialand' in a more pop way and I love the spacious arrangement and mix...it'z almost jazz-y, in a good way that iz hahaha.

  34. David Cummings

Iv had many amour moments to this....

  35. Gu2tav

    Love this song .....

  36. James Bradfield

About 20 years ago actually. I think I read a line in Lost Souls that talked about the Cocteau Twins and "her ethereal voice". Since then they are by far my favorite band. I think their B-Sides are their best work. Check out Mud and Dark and Primitive Heart.

  37. varlakittykat

anyone search out cocteau twins because of poppy z brite? =]

  38. Carolina Leiton

    pura, transparente, música para ángeles....

    Arthur Baião

Carolina Leiton , Música , melodia de finíssimo Gosto .

  39. Faride Ramirez

Elizabeth Fraser, the woman with the voice of an angel. Just unique. I love this song by the softness and sweetnes of its melody.

  46. nemmjenba

If someday I wake up and I realize I am not in this world, and I find myself into somewhere else... hearing this song... I will not be worried, for that means I am in paradise....

Thank you for the post ...and Liz thank you for the memoris and that concert in San Francsico back in 96? 95? I can't remember....but it was DIVINE.
